You can, but you would have to back the UHMW with either thin steel (10gauge), or build a skeleton frame behind it. The material will deflect if you have too large of an opening behind it.

Most things I read said not to use 886 with bilstein because the compression rate and spring didn't match well together. There's a guy selling barely used 885 with one shocks on here for 450, but I don't know if the 885 would give me enough lift or not

interesting. it'd be kind of cool to make a steel skeleton with it. I guess the material and labor costs would get up there though and at that point you could just buy a full steel skid.

Chris Rock actually had a stand-up bit about this. He said that if bullets cost $1000 each we wouldn't have any more drive-by shootings where guys are just spraying bullets and hitting random people.

8lb skid? What's it made of? Sounds kind of skimpy for something as large as the gas tank. My LCA skids weigh 15 pounds each and are made out of 1/4" steel and make gravel out of trail rocks.

    Looks good though!

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
Ultra High Molecular Weight PE to be more precise. That stuff isn't the wussy plastic that most people think of when they hear Polyethylene.

I've seen a lot of people mention OME 885x coils as the new better coils to get, but no one that sells them labels them online as 885x. Have they just upgraded the coils now and called them by the original name with no "x"?
How rough is the ride of 886 coils with OME shocks if I have a hybrid front bumper?

The ride should be fairly smooth since its some added weight

I believe so.. I ordered 885s from Wheelers and they are the 885x. I think OME has just done away with the 885 and everything is the 885x now whether it's advertised as such or not.

    No clue on the 886s.

Got my alignment done. That completes the lift. Billstein 5100 set at 1.75". Factory coils, Billstein 5100 in rear. Firestone ride rite bags with daystar cradles 20psi. VERY happy with the ride/look!!!
