So what started with just the Toyota emblem
    [IMG]
Turned into research on taking the grill off...

Found some helpful advice, came right off after 2 bolts, 5 clips. I hate masking, so I decided to see if I could get the chrome away from the black plastic. Couldn't find anything here, so I just started unscrewing things. T20 torx bit, and about a dozen screws (2 on each side, and I didn't count the ones in the middle, but take them all off.) The grill is still held on by small plastic retention clips, insert sideways flathead and lift up as you look at the grill face down. Ended up here...

Cleaned the grill well, then followed the many threads using adhesion promoter, and duplicator super white 2 spray paint. Take your time, lots of light coats!

Pretty happy with it before I snapped everything back together

Now it's dark, took most of my afternoon but I'm very happy with the way it turned out, and it cost me about 20 bucks in paint! Thanks TW for the courage and guidance!

Did you do any clear coat or whatnot, or just the duplicolor colour match? I think I may do this myself for the time being.

I'm debating painting the chrome bumper in the rear. I'm trying to decide between this, or just black dip. Do you think the bumper would turn out as well, or might it be a bit too large for a DIY paint job?

I dipped my rear bumper. I didn't wanna wrestle it with all the sanding etc.

No clear coat on the outer, I hit the emblem with a krylon matte clear (had it laying around from gun camos). I actually read a few guys say the glossy clear gives it a yellowish look compared to the Toyota Super White. I'm just seeing it in daylight for the first time this morning, I'll get a better picture up soon!

It's raining, so it's a little deceiving but I'll take it!
