I was running the stock ones but had the bolt destroy one of them and scoop up sand, ultimately leading to seal failure.

I will check these out and give them a try.

No, just center the factory slot / hole on the slot / hole in the TC plates. I used a clamp to hold them on while I tacked it on.

On the 2nd gens they're specific for which tab they go on, make sure you have the right tab for the right place.

Mine sat in my garage for almost two years before I installed them. I finally did them when I replaced the LCA bushings.

Pain in the ass, but a good step towards improving the durability of the IFS.

The frame mounts for the lower arm definitely leave something to be desired, at least on the second gen...haven't looked close at a first gen. All you guys totally gusseting that area just fabing your own gussets/rebuilding the whole mount?

Has anyone tried running these on their trucks? How do they hold up? Is there any other options for the 3rz that they might know of?

On Jprich's gen 1 we're running the camburg clevis's. I run a bolt that is the exact minimum length to not protrude thru the locknut more then a thread and use red loctite on it. I'm running the OE boots with hose clamps, one around the rack and one around the tie rod itself. Visually, except for the bigger tie rod, it looks factory and you can't tell we have a clevis on there. Have had no issues, no boot tears, nothing so far...

    I originally made my own....

    Picture001_3d449edcf7f5d6e00a146e29f6662a53a637b69c.jpg

But then in our first race we had another portion of the engine mount break and I was never really happy with the ones I made so when I fixed the issue we broke I also convinced Jason to just pickup a set of those. They said they were OE replacements. The issue I ran into, which wouldn't be an issue for most, is those trail gear mounts lower the engine down just a bit. Normally not a problem but I've got some very tight clearances between his header and the UCA frame mount on the passenger side.

    100_1377_zps0911a727_56b726c18e59f10b8f471f2621233dc992d9443d.jpg

Dropping the motor with the trailgear mounts caused our header to hit. I'd already built that fixture above based off the factory motor mount so I cut up the trail gear one and kind of reworked it so that it truely was an OE replacement.

    100_1383_zpsd275f5b2_e15abac4d8aa63bbbaab0efe64c52de61c7ca3a5.jpg

Haven't had any issues at all with them otherwise and like I said, chances are the little bit lower mount won't cause any issues on most truck builds but ours just had some tight clearances and I had to keep the motor in the factory position so I modified them a bit.

Not a toyota and not related but I installed a GPS in my hooptie last night... Spending a few weeks working on my pile before diving into prep on Jason's truck. That's May's project for me...

ok. I'm going to have to check to see how much clearance I have with my headers. Thanks for the pics.

I thought I had a picture that showed the Trail gear mounts in my fixture so you could see the exact amount it was off from factory but I can't find it. Off hand I want to say it only dropped it about 3/8" or so but that little bit was just enough to cause problems with the way I have his upper mounts built.

I have them too, but I didn't notice it raising or lowering my engine. All I noticed is that it turned my truck into a vibrator.

What solid mounts do. I didn't notice hardly. It raised mine up to the point I barely got them in.

just got a simple lift on her
You need to call trail gear!
I called them on my truck and from what I remember, they said 6 cylinders with a certain header doesnt work because of clearances, as they ran into above. But i'm pretty sure they told me they fit on all 4 cylinders no matter what.
I have Doug Thorly headers on my yota with those mounts and have no issues.
one of the best upgrades i have done on my truck.
