As long as this thread is sucking, I use them in the desert. 1000's of miles in sand and rocks with no true anchor and yes I am often there by myself shooting, hunting coyotes, banging midgets and artifact hunting. Just a piece of mind. Go prepared or be prepared to fail.

maxtrax in deep snow is a great asset...especially when you get above treeline out here
    i.e.
    IMG_0874_zps9876737a_1599960c3938283973447c9230e7a42421453d20.jpg

also when i got stuck in moab rolling solo on 7mile and decided to take the mtn bike trail and got stuck to the frame in sand, they would have been great to have...instead i spent a couple hours shoveling and luckily there was a small ass tree that had roots of steel spreading 10 feet out for an anchor that managed to hold enough to pull me out...versus having maxtrax that could have gotten me out in a couple minutes..

but you don't have trails above treeline there nor do you wheel in a desert....

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Well in that case you should keep the other set so you can snuggle with your maxtrac on those cold nights where you are all alone and shunned by us real men who live on the east coast who don't need that pansy shit!

Besides if you get stuck just stick potatoes under there for more traction.

    Yes
Apparently the boys in Vah Beech wheel like chicks going to the powder room...only in pairs. Whereas us manly men go solo for days in the desert...

Trail Gear for the 8.4 they have revised the design so it actually fits an 8.4. They have claimed that the old bad design is out of circulation but as you see by the comment below they are not.

Highly recommend you order it from Summit Racing vice LROR.
Your new one show up yet?

Alright taking votes now for my headlight retrofit...not sure how I want to paint. Options are:

    1)All Black 100%
    edeb9ca43ad228e3bb69541c499a12ca_eb43e2a47214a5eb9f8b24a1397533b1d8a31f9f.jpg
    2)All Black except turn signals
    59faba6d8930e9d3a3829c4611780796_23d6a50bd3821630fb35e5efe0774577fda56683.jpg
3)Projector and headlight shroud black w/ bowl and turn signal left chrome

I have seen 1 and 3 in person and I am probably not going with 1 since it makes the front end look to dark. I like 3 but I also think 2 would look nice...

Go ahead give me your thoughts and reasoning.

I've heard too many people say the retros aren't worth the monies. From keeping them sealed to the halos falling off in the housing. I say keep it OEM.

Too late I already ordered the D2S kit. I had been committed to leaving them stock since new but I want the light output. I am doing all the work so it's 250 bucks. I won't be doing any of that ricer led ring shit.

As much as I want even the BLHM mod, I just don't want to deal with them coming unglued and taking on water all over again. 2 sets was enough for me on my last build.

Get that 3M ribbon sealer and don't worry about leaks/fogging. Trust me. Take your time, do it right and you won't have issues.
