Didn't you already try a rhino. The bumper idea would be no different than the 6" lift people doing the same thing correct? Or sas

Don't give in. He said $11k. Hold him to it. And what you should do it get that 11k, buy that Toyota for $1500 since it has no title, sell it to me for $1600 so you make a lil money, then buy your razor thingy
Correct. Although it would be easier to reverse this process assuming that you cut it off clean and keep it. 99% of people who say they are going to return their truck to stock to sell it don't do it. One cause no one keeps every fucking nut, bolt and plastic piece to put stuff back and 2 because it's a lot of work and money to buy stock stuff again or make your stock stuff work. And I'm not talking about just wheels and some projector headlights. I talkin about anyone who would consider buying a front bumper like that probably has done a few other appearance alternating things

Aight here's the best I got at explaining it ........

Before I begin, I know. I can only write like a 6 year old on my phone screen

Ok so heres what I'm looking at. Here's the frame rail and where the bumper mounts. As you can see there are 3 mounting bolts that are attached to the frame above where Im gonna cut. 2 on the outside and 1 on the inside of the bumper which Im apparently not using anyway. Haha so I'd be cutting on the red line and removing the "trapeze" with the crossbar ......

    72eb01a008a387409edb466d4a0964f0_8e3eece8d68cc3cb22798b4b7ec1923114e13a58.jpg

Here are the mounting points that would stay (which is all of them) .....

    78d92a7b749ea576b7419d3754bbc1ae_f2f85915c7a7a34208d065522b2fd9662620494b.jpg

    861c74f719bbf266da5db338a62c3380_a21050839b427b931bb886fa2b70c75a51e15971.jpg

And heres how much it would take off .....

    bc90559d73c6a3f259b52bb2a2e1f815_174e8cc6ce1f6cc46f9f927e7f7847d4dd11881f.jpg

So then once that is done I gotta fit the bumper to it. Now I'm not sure if this can be done without destroying it but if it can then this is what I'll do. I'll cut the triangle pieces out between the front plate and mounting point then cut a slit across the front plate right above those holes, bend it up and reweld and shape it.

    1ae4e1fc662cfdd78788ad64e12da8d9_ee53181f3d51aec5c1355955605ed55c803456ff.jpg

After that is done I would modify the skid by doing the same thing. I'd cut a slit all the way across, bend it then reweld and shape it.

    2723d6b9deff86798d07e59f7f8f5af2_9cae82d451a48f2b4032b325883a994eca1edb52.jpg

There are also two mounting points that were part of the stock system that I would cut off to angle the skid plate up higher.

    bad9653ea011861a5c143ab3143d8fcb_a019299b72e44e903873552a4f9c092964ca22d8.jpg

I'd also cut about 1/2" off the mounting stands that hold the skid up to move it upwards more. As you can see there is about 1" of clearance between the diff and skid so I should be fine with 1/2" or a lil less.

    df521f3925a375622db49e5397ac211c_9b536e1359bf7d2eb4ba2f0fca970b78e0deb9a3.jpg

So the finished product would have a clearance difference that looks something like this ......

Yesterday. Haha finally. It's been over a year since I painted it last. It may have had a little rust on it. Haha

Gid, make sure you keep a bolt on the bottom, running vertical through the mount. you may have had that in mind and I missed it when reading/looking at the pics. my bumper did not have a bolt running vertical and when levi and i pulled the truck up by the bumper, it started bending out. thankfully, levi, his dad, and I guess me (haha) fabbed/welded the "L" bracket to fasten the bottom to it so now the entire front end can be picked up by the bumper with no issue. Again, you may have said that, I just woldnt want you learning what we learned, and losing the capability to pull up on the bumper with a lift if needed.

You cut yours and finish the product then we'll go from there. I'd be down for another bumper. Not like I can easily go back to stock now......

On lighter news I should have my welds back tomorrow. They called today to say the xrays came back today and I can come back and discuss the findings tomorrow. And I may or may not have to join zach in welding class lol.

lol you would probably hate everyone in that class. I’m like the oldest person in the class one kid is a few months older and the rest well they are like 18 and 19 year olds. they also like to take smoke breaks every 30 or 45 min. I don’t talk to anyone out side of class.

I would cut that off. From a structural standpoint when you cut that off you loose less surface area for your winch to be attached to and those forces to be dissipated over.
