Steve you may be able to rotate the coil itself such that you align the gap in the spring with the UCA so there is no contact. Grab your older boy and tandem turn that spring around.

Btw...do you have a trim packer on the drivers side?

Yeah, there's a trim packer. That spacer photo is on the passenger side - I did passenger side first for no reason whatsoever.

    So, just to understand -

    1. the shock stays fully bolted in place and can't rotate
    2. it's at full extension to minimize load
    3. three men and a dog grab onto the spring and grunting profanity the whole time, physically rotate the spring around the shock.

    Is that the concept?

Anything that can be broken by doing that to watch out for?

I could not have summed up the instructions any better myself.

One additional thought though. I'm by no means an expert on OME. I mostly deal with coilovers which have a flat bottom that mate to a bottom plate. Is the bottom of your spring flat? Or does the bottom of the coil spring just end and fit into the bottom plate in a specific orientation? If the spring and bottom plate float, then you can proceed with the spinning grunting technique. If the bottom plate is welded to the shock body and the spring fits into it...no amount of grunting will work.

The bottom fits into a shaped perch. But I think the perch itself is free to rotate.

I got my coilovers pre-assembled so I didn't have to put them together.

I'll try and look into it a little more. Anyhow, thanks for the suggestion. I can see how that could work.

    Well, this pic from wheelers:
Sure makes it look like it ought to rotate. I'll email Dan at Wheelers (I bought from them in the first place) and double check with him.

My guess is you are good to go then. If everything floats around the shock body, rotate it.

    Completely separate topic.

What's the total thickness of the washers you added to your bumps? I'm pretty sure I still have some solid aluminum spacers that look about that thick that I would sell you for free ninety-nine.

I love this build. Great job Moose. I love that bumper and I usually don't like all black trucks or bhlm on black trucks but I really like how yours comes together.

Yeah, I know I have black wheels. Lol

It's always looked a little funny from some angles, ever since I very first put it on. Prolly a function of the line I taped and cut on the fender.

EDIT - probably more noticeable as a result of the load induced "lean"
