Im planing on doing that. Im filling it all in.^^^^
I don't think the ears will break. It's one solid piece. If anything a bolt comes loose and you oval out the bolt hole.

I have those TG mounts as well. It was a bitch to put in. It lowered mine about 1/4"... I believe trail gear says they are a smidge smaller than stock 3.4 mounts and the same for 4cyl. Make sure u gussets the shit out of perches as they will smash right away.

I completely ripped the motor mount apart and cracked a perch, then ripped the perches ears off. Jd had some good templates that we (DTF and I) used for mine. We boxed and plated the stock trans mount too I'm to lazy to post but I have pics in my IG of all of it.

Thanks for correcting me on that. I'll try and figure sometime out for the ears then.

I've seen your pics of your transmission mount. Very beefy. Looks good too.

Has anyone used the 2nd Gen Solo motor mount gussets? They look like they will beef up the mounts pretty well. When I went to Tim at DMZ for his motor mounts he said my 2011 had the upgraded mounts and his wouldn't fit...but I'll definitely be upgrading my new truck everywhere I can, and motor mounts is first on the list lol

LOL, same here, now I've gotta add that to the list of things to look at when I pull jprich's truck back in the garage next month. I boxed it in and plated some areas of it but still, all this talk has me a bit paranoid now.

Out of all the stuff I've built, what I did to his frame horns are the one item I'm just not willing to show pictures of. LOL, the added material is stuck there and not going anywhere but boy is it ugly!

^^^^ hahaha! Yeah last night when I posted the pics I was being very selective. Some sections looks like I have fingers growing. I need to get a better light when I go to finish it off. I still have a lot of clean up to do.

Your purch won't rip off the frame but it still had the thin weak ears....which will probably break.

just about to say the same thing. i had mine "fixed" when i went to glamis for thanksgiving and the ears were completly shreaded. i noticed right when we were headed home too. scared the shit out of me. the oil pan was sitting on the frame. could have been catastrophic if i kept mobbing the truck like i did

The rest of my perches looked good but my ears were gone.

Pic of the mounts Halo made for my truck in the link below.
    http://www.halosupercars.com/blog/news/taco-update/

They have done a few set for other since and added ears to make it easier to position the mount. Pic below

Give them a call or shot an email and they will make more.

If anyone wants to bring me a first gen, I'll make perches. Should be in the 140-160$ range.
