:confused:Does any one have information or advise on how tire sizes and tire weight affect your factory spec's and by how much. Such as mpg's and wear and tear on suspension parts. WHAT is the best mud terrain tire size for a stock 09' trd 4x4 considering weight of tire and mpg's and no lift .245/75/16 or 255/70/16 or 265/75/16. Which size tire gives me the best of both worlds. bfg's kam'2 thanks

Anytime you increase rotational mass (larger tires, etc..) it has an affect on performance and mpg. The BFG's are a heavy tire. The size you probably want is a 265/75/16

I went from the stock 245/70/16 to a pretty chunky 265/75/16 all-terrain tire and lost 2 mpg. No lift in my truck and no loss of performance and it rides good.

Are you adding 7.5% to the odometer when you calculate MPG?

The 265/75s are taller than your stock tires, so your odometer will be the 7% off Chris mentioned. You probably only lost 1mpg...

    Check the tire calculator out...

Is your truck rubbing on stock height with 265/75/16.

Just wondering my 2000 tacoma has 265/75R15 which were I think a factory option. My door frame said it came factory with 225/75's just wondering if you got the factory optioned larger tires do they recalibrate the odometer? Or would I also need to add a percentage?
