    I know I'm going to hate it. But I hate paying someone to build shit for me more. I'd rather deal with some small bullshit while expanding my knowledge base and opening the door to a more potential and lucrative field of employment than do the same repetitious bullshit each day just to pay someone a ridiculous amount of money for a piece of metal.

    My example here would be my relentless fab light mounts for my 50". Relentless is a good company and I have absolutely no issues with them. However paying 120+ for two piece of metal bent and drilled a certain way with a weld in the corner is ridiculous.

    I agree to all of this. Except I don't think you will hate it that bad. I loved welding in high school and that was a class.

    Tell the truth in a way i kinda wish i would have just bought a mig welder and taught my self. I’m wanting to get a mig or maybe a mig/tig welder anyways. Just wait till i get on mig and i’ll teach you what they teach me.

    I hate this stick welding and don’t know how much longer i will be on it.( probably another month or two.) most stuff is going away from stick welding only areas that really use it still is pipe and some ship building or some in the field repair type work. a lot of stuff is moving to mig or even tig welding or some other type of welding. if you want to make the big money(like $20+ an hour) you pretty much only option is to travel or go work at say like Y12 or Alcoa.

    False we use stick welding a lot in tank building. I also use it more are home than mig anymore. The thing i like about it is the fact that you have a good selection of rods for all different types of welds.

    well yeah tank building would be good. We where just told that some stuff is moving away from it, but some types of stuff still used it a lot. they said ship building/ pipe and some other stuff(they did not name every thing that uses it still)


    IMO mig is just as good maybe light better for any fab work and easier to weld with. I really fucking hate 6010 rods, makes me want to cut my wrist....(figuratively speaking, no i’m not going to kill my self even if someone or some people would like me to) once i get done with over head T plates i start over with 7018, than move on to butt plates and open butt plates. before i can mig weld witch is what i really want to do.

    Stick is just as easy if not easier, as long as you set the machine right it will Damn near weld it for you. However I really like mig as long as your in a controlled environment.

    Do you guys know if bilsteins set to 2.5 would cause tire rub on the UCA once swapped out with TC UCA's? Mine are currently set to .85" and I'm thinking about moving up to 1.75 or 2.5 but cant decide. I figure adding this higher will help the very tiny rub i have with the 35's on the cab mount (i dont think i can afford to chop anymore! haha). Im assuming this will work. whats better, 1.75 or 2.5 setting?

    What springs are you running? Anything other than stock springs should not be set to 2.5. That's mine and kurts set up- 2.5 with stock springs. As far as rubbing on the uca's... that all depends on rim backspacing. I'm on stock uca's and TX rims with no issues.
