    You're a PreRunner too?

I guess its different in different parts of the country. In the Southern US, they are useless for anything but picking up chicks. In other places I'm sure its a different story.

Im a prerunner from Mississippi. My trucks gonna go through several phases but it will go from stock to mall crawler to probably mid travel and then long travel and hopefully 4x4 conversion. I would have loved a 4x4 to start with but since I was on a limited budget and found my truck for 4 grand I kind of had no choice.

Bought it with 189xxx it's got a 2.7 and a 5 speed 10 years old. It's a prerunner. And the rear sliding window was busted out and replaced with plexiglass. Also had a bad wheel bearing when I bought it. Everything else is golden. I feel like I got a deal on it but didn't rob the guy blind

    Yes sir
Why wouldn't you just wait and save up for LT and 4x4 conversion rather than spending money on the mall crawler, then the mid travel, and then doing LT/4x4? You'd save a ton of money

Well a stage or two would be skipped but they are all options. Also it will be a while before I want to go really serious (LT 4x4) so mall crawler for now and then a few years down the road 4x4 with LT. I can't go a few years in a stock truck. I'd be a lot happier in a mall crawler while I waited to build a rock crawler then to save the money and drive a stock truck. Plus I would have the truck ready for the full blown trail rid build. It will be set up for 37's(4.88's and lots of cutting) and running said 37's, and probably have the rear suspension all set up.

This is against all advice you'll probably get here and it could be stupid but this is just a thought.

I think you got a hell of a deal on the Tacoma and there is a profit to be made. If it were ME, I'd sell it for a couple grand profit and buy a well built XJ. But having a 4x4 is more important to me than having a Tacoma. And I've seen some badass XJs in the $5-6k range. But that's just me.

That's an idea Cap. I was originally looking for an XJ before I fod my taco. 4x4 and solid axle is awesome. But I've come to fall in love with the second gen. I just don't think I could down grade just for 4 wheel drive.
