    I agree with others that most separates are designed to work in infinite baffle or very large enclosures (i.e. door). However, some speakers will benefit from being mounted in a smaller box. The only way to tell is to input the T/S parameters in modeling software and see what you get.

    Putting into too small an enclosure will cause you to lose some low end, but with a subwoofer that may not be a problem for you. I guess it depends on your crossover settings and how low you need your midbass to play. You could run into compression issues at loud volumes which will affect the sound and possibly damage your speakers. Again, I can't say for certain without plugging in your T/S parameters and enclosure volume into modeling software.

    What did you use for the sound deadening? How much and from where?

    i have a 2015 Tacoma double cab with the factory NAV stereo and want to change it out with the Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX system. What parts or accessories do I need to buy to get this to work and fit nicely in my dash? I'm going to pay someone to install it.

    Is your factory stereo the JBL system?

    If not, you will need;

    A dash kit. Scosche or Metra, your choice. I like the Metra one for the current model Tacoma dash.
    A primary wiring harness. Scosche model TA02B.
    An accessory wiring harness (for SWC, AUX, ETC) . AXXESS model TOY28 something something something
    A steering wheel control interface. AXXESS ASWC-1
    (maybe?) a relay and a toggle switch for your Pioneer video bypass. I don't know off the top of my head how they work on Pioneers now.
    Your new radio.
    Your own thread.

    My factory stereo is not the JBL. It sounds very complicated as far as all the things I need to buy in addition to the new stereo system.

    The only thing that is remotely complicated is the video bypass. Whoever you have doing the install for you should have that stuff laying around or know where to get it for less than $10.

    The rest of the stuff, with the exception of the dash kit, has part numbers in the list I wrote. For the Accessory harness, just search "AXXESS TOY 28 pin harness."

    Thank you so much for helping me. Should I also replace the factory rear view camera as well!?

    Also, do I need the SIRIUSXM tuner card since I have a paid subscription to satellite radio?

    Awesome job! I especially like how you did the subwoofer, that is exactly what I want to do with my install. Any issues with the amp under the seat and it overheating?

    How did you secure the amp MDF legs to the floor?
