2015 Formula 1 Season Paddock

Renault's issue is the amount of money they invest in the hybrid power unit versus the amount of press or exposure they get for the same sum ( which recently hasn't been too positive ) , as no other teams on the grid are supplied by them , their options for more exposure are limited to purchasing a works team . Their other option is to determine the press or exposure they are getting is not worth their investment and decide to pull out of F1 . The latter option spells the end of Red Bull racing because neither Ferrari or Mercedes are likely to supply them with engines hence their offer of running Renault livery on the Toro Rosso

 

I thought they were just fickle.

 

The other thing to consider is with a works team Renault would have a chance at a share of the prize money , Marrusia / Manor's single point in 2014 carried a $50 million payday

I just don't see mclaren lagging along like Ferrari has for the last several seasons. All parties involved are highly motivated and not afraid to make drastic changes.
I guess it really depends on Honda to get up to speed, but if anyone can do it Honda can.
I think Alonso is still one of the best drivers, and mclaren and Honda want the top prize.
Then again who would have guessed 3 years ago Williams would be a contender.

Not just Honda. McLaren chassis is a factor too. Last year clearly demonstrated that they are behind that curve as well.
