    What is your routine?

I can't run with my shitty knees, but been doing power walk on treadmill since June and lifting since end of July.

Is that RUST on the upper passenger side of your bumper? Or Pollen?

Normally I lift Monday, Wednesday, Friday & run on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday. When I run I do my 2 mile loops or I (used to) do 2.5 miles on the treadmill @ the gym. When I lift I use my bench, free weights, and chin-up bar for a full-body workout (although working my legs gets tedious without a machine).

The cardio routine I did this winter instead of running is basically the '21 Day Fix' routine and involves leg lifts, jumping jacks, running pushups, pushup-to-a-jump, etc. It's good in that it's low-impact cardio, but as I discovered last night it doesn't keep you in the right condition for running.

You only live a mile from work? I'd totally run that during the summer, haha!

Probably no different than the plow lights on the Yeti; They bugged me at first but now I barely notice them when I drive it.

Remember Alex is short, he probably can't see that far over the hood :)

Alex, bumper looks good. What are the cut outs on the sides for? Decoration or do they serve a purpose?

Any of you guys every look into Opti-Coat or Ceramic Pro for your trucks or other vehicles? Just wondering how 'permanent' it really is and if it's worth the money. I see the SeaJay's detailing truck every week at soccer and, even in the dead of winter, that thing looks clean! I'm sure he washes it more than I wash mine since he owns a detailing company but the Opti-Coat seems to really keep that thing looking good. I'm sort of anal about keeping my truck looking clean, something like that might be worth the investment for me.

I have looked into but I think it really serves the greatest gains on a brand new vehicle. Being used, there are lots of scratches that would become permanent underneath the opticoat.

Also it seems that reapplication is necessary (according to my research) every few years and with the cost and amount of prep time, I decided to stick with my waxing routine. That being said, let me know if you decide to do it....still interested in it, just never knew anyone personally who had done it.

I'm not certain I'd go through with it to be honest, just looking to get some feedback. I looked into it years ago for the Tacoma and it would have cost me $6-700. With the Ford, I would have to either correct the paint myself or have someone do it so I wouldn't lock in scratches so that cost would be a factor. The Ceramic Pro coating seems more permanent than the Opti-Coat system, no recoating necessary. The Opti-Coat seems like it can be permanent if you keep up with maintenance and depending on how hard you are on your paint. Seeing this truck week after week made me think about it again. Damn thing always looks clean, water beads right up on it. One of these times I'll catch the driver (probably Jason from SeaJay's) and pick his brain a bit.

They aren't too bad. Gives you a judgment point of where the front of your truck is

There's a reason it was only $500. The original PC got fouled up when this bumper was made in Central America, so it bubbled and rusted a little, but it's only surface rust.

I will be grinding it with a flap disk to get all the PC off, then bedlining it.

And yeah, day 3 and I don't even notice em there.

    :brianr:

One of the sets of cutouts is for the lights in the bumper, the ones further out are just there. Then the silver ones are removable but aid significantly in the process of bolting the bumper onto the mounting bracket (two piece bumper)

Going to have Meineke install my new OME front struts. Unless someone else can recommend a better shop. They weren't 100% confident and had me leave my truck there just to see if they could do it. They are willing to do the work but if someone knows of a shop with experience installing lifts that would be much appreciated.

I'm in Boston, but willing to travel a bit for a good shop.

Don't worry, it'll only be submerged in fresh water under Alex's watchful eye.
Installing OME struts isn't any different than any other set of struts. If they're not comfortable doing that, do yourself a favor and get your truck back quick! It's just a basic shock install, any decent shop should be able to do the work.
