It seems many like to go with the highest setting, or the 2.5 inch. But I have read many who say they have issues with a vibration at this setting. Some complain about alignment issues with this height. Then there is the argument putting the stock suspension components in this position results in future failure of front end components.
My question is, for those who went with the 1.75 setting, are you having any issues like the ones mentioned above, or anything else? Please give feedback if you can with the 1.75" setting. Thanks

i went 2.5", no problems at all. alignment is slightly off, but uneven tire wear is not bad at all after 35k.

Any other guys out there running the 5100's @ 1.75" up front with positive or negative feedback with this set up?

1.75 for me, rear tsb, 16" OR wheels and stock rugged fails. Great ride tracks perfect. Do it, I skipped 2.5 for the exact same reason you are thinking because of the vibes chance. I didn't want to chase a fix for the vibes, this is my daily driver. The 1.75 is almost level as well....just a slight rake, but my driveway goes uphill a little and looks mean out there!

That is what I thought. I have the same set up, except dunlop snails. DD concerns is with me as well with this truck. After my TSB rear being done, I have a 2.5"+/- difference front to rear height at stock height.

I think the Prerunner 4 cyl being lighter will draw a tad more overall height with the 5100's due to engine/trans weight differences.

I had the TSB done three weeks ago, 4 leaf spring pack and F & B TRD shocks . The rear suspension not only raised the back, but the spring/shock combination increased the firmness of the ride on all four corners. Not a problem at all, except I felt like I was going down a hill all the time because of the front biased rake. I waited a week or so for the suspension to settle in and had the 5100s installed at 1.75". The truck is nearly level with a slight front bias, and the ride is firm, but not uncomfortable. Initially, I could almost imagine some wandering on the highway, or a sensation that the truck was light in the front, but I don't seem to notice it now. I agree with something posted previously - this is the stance our trucks should come with from the factory. I've owned three other Toyota 4 x 4s over the last 20+ years, and this set-up emulates that of previous trucks. It rides and handles like I think a truck should, not like a "gentlemen's truck".

Exactly the same set up as I had planned. Your truck looks good, I guess our trucks will look alike minus the color and tires for now when I get the 5100's installed. Thanks for the info and photo

I set mine at 1.75 and have no problems and love the ride. Levels it out nice, I also had the TSB done. Its the best setup Ive ever had on a truck.

I went with 1.75, rear TSB only (no lift). The ride is awesome. Before 5100 the rear TSB made the front feel soft comparatively. Now with the 5100 the balance is back front/rear. Extremely happy with this setup.

Sounds like the 1.75" is the way to go. Always thought I would only go to the 1.75" setting, but with the 5100's sitting in the garage waiting for me to get the TSB done, I started second guessing myself. I know the rear springs will settle, but I am around 2.5" higher in the rear then the front post TSB.

I have the 2.5 setting on my 06 reg cab and 2" aal in rear and I am running with 1\4 spacers behind front wheels 285\75\16's and was able to hit alinement, I do rub uca if cranked all the way, I just know where to stop turning or go all the way and back off a lttle before take off,the chances of cranking all the way going down the road is never going to happen.. the ride is very good at this setting. And truck sets factory.

Does anyone know if the spidertrax spacers are cool to run or will they cause tires to hit inner fenders, and do they make the wheels stick way out past fenders? thinking about going that route..
    Thanks..

couple things you have to keep in mind. Rear springs will settle to about 2" post TSB. Also, the rear wheel well is a bit higher than the front giving you a feel of a higher rear. The 1.75 w/TSB will look nearly perfect. It'll kinda still look like it's higher in the back because of the wheel well.

Techinical Service Bulletin - certain issues, which are not recalls, that some owners have with their vehicles. In this case, Tacomas have had a 3 leaf pack which created harsh rides, bottoming out, etc. when carrying weight in the bed, and for those who experienced these issues Toyota has offered a frimer, 4 leaf pack, plus shocks on some models to help correct this issue, no charge under warranty. Current vehicles covered, 05-08 4x4/Prerunner models. However, like myself, many with 09's have had the rear TSB done, but the TSB should be updated to include the 09's soon. ;)
