I'm just curious as to what all will be replaced with this job. I worked for Mack Truck on the assembly line for a few years .. I took part in building trucks from the bare frame up.. I personally did 4 different jobs on the assembly line and know first hand what is involved here.. Grant you alot more goes into building a Mack over a Taco but there still is alot of parts involved here.. just can't help but wonder where they draw the line on what or what not to replace.. Must be a "Standard parts kit" Anyone had this work done and know what is included .. How the vehicle performed after the altercation? ?? Any complaints? ? Is the Dealership warranty there work for things such as alignment body panels cab to box fitment? ? It gets to the point here to where it's almost like "Taking a shower but putting your dirty underwear back on" I can see alot of potential problems with just slapping a new frame and installation of old bolt on back on a 8 year 100K mile truck.. Just a thought!

Good news my frame has arrived at the dealership but parts kit has not so I still wait.... Bad news is that the dealership where my truck has been sitting for the last couple months called me last week and informed me that the wheels and tires were stolen off my truck while it sat on their lot!!! Yup.. some SOB'S jacked up my truck with 2 shitty sizzor Jacks and stole my wheels and tires. .The truck shifted over night and was sitting on its rotors and drums in the am when the dealership opened. ..

They refused to pay for the theft they would only pay my deductible.. So I had to file a claim under my insurance.. Just doesn't seem right! ! I asked "What if I only had liability and not full tort " I was told that the dealership is not responsible for theft or damage while on their property..

Sounds like total horse shit to me. It's in their property and the truck is in their hands. They should replace the stolen parts. I bet you your wheels and tires are in one of the employees garage.

Another thing about your situation is now you have to worry about some "mechanic" or "mechanics" take your whole truck apart and Properly put it back together. I would never trust someone to do that properly unless I was sitting there watching. Good work ethic is hard to find these days... I would do full inspection once you get the truck back.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Eh. I bet they have that posted somewhere that they're not responsible for loss due to theft of personal belongings (including a vehicle and it's parts). Sucks though, pretty sure all of our dealerships here have security guards that patrol overnight.

They claimed responsibility for you truck when they took it for the frame replacement...

That's on them for not having a secure lot.

No reason for you to file a claim.

What would they do if a there was a hit and run involving your truck? Damage and theft is their concern on their property.

They can "say" whatever they want -- that doesn't get them out from under their responsibility under the law. They are to provide reasonable care -- and I don't believe they showed reasonable care by allowing somebody in to vandalize your truck.

That's a load of shit. What would have happened if an employee damaged it while working on it? Would they say "sorry we're not responsible" ? No way man. Talk to a lawyer and have them pay up.

This is established case law. They are indeed responsible.

They actually have a sign up that reads...We are not responsible for damage or theft to your vehicle while on our property. .. One of the employees brought it to my attention. .. I chuckled and said .." I suppose if I hang a sign on my property that reads ..."If you injure yourself on my property my home owners insurance or my wife or I are not responsible. .. "Do you honestly think that waives my legal responsibility? ? He said "I have no idea ..

    Hi
    Man,what a storie!
    This is incredible.
Strange that a Toyota Dealer like that does nt take responsibility on things been stolen off there own place..
You had enough stress with that frame being done without having to deal with stolen tirers etc..
Man,i went through that frame change over last February, same thing as you, almost ..Had to waited at least three months after they told me that yes it was a go.Though once they started everything went smoothly within a week time they did the work, they even changed my muffler for a very very good price, because my original one had a small whole in it..
I hope everything will be taken care in your case.
    All the best
    Charly
