Any good fab shops that are local that fab sliders? Looking to get a set for my truck but don't wanna pay an extra 100+ for shipping. Would rather just go pick em up. Any suggestions?

That totally makes sense now. I always thought of the travel totally comes from the shock, I didnt think of the placement of the LCA. Which also makes sense on how 4linked trucks get so much travel.

I must say good spotter mod helps a ton too!

I bought my truck to go explore. Sam(and tw as a whole) convinced me that tacos are better than Rangers(what I was looking at). Even if my taco does break, there's plenty of info here to fix it and plenty of friends here willing to help. Plus the trips I read sounded awesome. I plan on building my truck right now to do some of those harder trails if it be fast or slow.

And that's just it too, it'll be this way for a while until I'm ready to make the next step. Maybe some small tweaks to make it better for what I'm doing, but there is no plan to redo the lift.

So would you guys then recommend OME over icon/king/fox shocks? Same specs and everything.

My OME setup was pretty stiff, but flexed great.

That's what I figured. I don't mind buying used and rebuilding if necessary. Are the icon/fox/king/saw valved better? What makes them better than OME I guess.. Do you remember what your front coils were?

    What were your front coils?

I don't know if my Taco had 881s or 882s. It was somewhat rough, but not bad. But body roll was noticeable once the All Pro Plate Bumper and M8000 w/ Syn. Line were added.

Dropping tire pressure into the high teens made the biggest difference in the washboard.

Icon/Fox/King are rebuild-able and tune-able with shims/pistons/charge pressure. OME are Aussie designed for the backcountry.

The full leaf packs (Dakar?, I can't keep the names straight) had plenty of capacity, flex, and decent ride. Heck, buggy on the trailer with a weight distributing hitch didn't get close to the bumps.

Most of the people that attempt tp climb Everest have no climbing/mountaineering experience aside from theblittle bit their guide company give them before heading up, no thanks.

K2 is one scary undertaking! I would love to climb the face of half dome over a few days sometime in the future! I would probably have to aid rather than free climb (not free solo!) a lot of it.. still would be epic!

I'm definately not saying that you don't have do be in incredibly good shape to do that climb! That wasn't my point in the slightest

It's going well. Going to bring some preload out of the Icons to finally get rid of the taco lean.

I'm sure it will. Never really had any complaints with the ride though. Only thing that bothers me is all the developing rattling.
