I missed all the fuel debate but my tacoma got high 18s on regafter lifting and adding the weight. Stock it was right around 22, it would be high 21 or low 22 week to week. The only time it saw premium was in the winter and that was probably only once a month.

    DOOO EEET!!!!
Turbo Z cars are a ton of fun. Friend of mine had one back in high school. It was more bondo than steel on the panels, but it still flew.
Right off the road, in fact, because Teenagers + Dirt Roads + Turbo Car = Amateur Rally Circuit.
Unfortunately, Amateur Rally Circuit - Driving Experience = losing it into a hayfield.

In retrospect, I've never seen anything more hilarious than a group of panicked teenagers trying to tow a 300Z up a hill back onto the road with a Dodge Omni. But at the time we were all scared shitless that the cops were going to show up.

Edit- Don't worry, Bill. I'm sure your daughter is more responsible than I was as a teenager.

There's a Taco in the garage I park in with the new BFG A/T. From the side, they look like the M/T but the tread itself looks the same as it has for the last 20 years. I'd heard the compound used was better though, you'll have to tell us if they're actually a decent tire or just hype.
To be fair though, I'd imagine any of the full size trucks lifted on 35's would get similar mileage. 17 for the big 5.7L isn't terrible. I'm only at 18 with the Ferd (winter blend and mixed driving in and out of Boston, I'll break 20 in the summer).
Jebus... That's pretty terrible. Case in point why I wouldn't want the FJ with full time 4wd.
x2, I love the Michelins on my truck. I thought they were great in the snow. I have the LTX AT2.

What have you run in the past that you did like? I had Cooper A/T tires in the past that I really liked at the time but thought the Michelins did much better. The Michelins are load range P, 265/70R17, not sure if you have LT tires or if that makes a difference.

I guess I should stop recommending them to people. I love them on the Ferd, seems I might be the minority. I have a little over 40k miles on them now and they still look great. I hope to get through next winter with them and I would definitely buy them again.

Denis, did you buy the set Rob had for sale, the F150 take offs?

Shrug. Seems like a lot of it depends on the vehicle, too. I had Cooper Discoverer ST's on a '93 Grand Cherokee and they were amazing. I kept the tires when I sold the Jeep and put them onto the '96 Nissan Hardbody I replaced it with. They were still decent tires, but they weren't nearly as good as they were on the ZJ.

Absolutely, the vehicle and the driver definitely come into play. I'm not surprised about rsox not liking them on the Tacoma, I am surprised about Denis not liking them on the Tundy though. I would have thought the Tundy and Ferd would behave similarly.

If it isn't the twin turbo don't bother. My buddy had both the N/A first and the TT second. The N/A left him always wanting more. The TT is an excellent sports car but it will eat tires from all the burnouts that you will be doing:burnrubber:

13k? geez that's high. My friend paid $3k for the N/a and $6k for the TT. Cant remember the mileage on either but they were both stock when he got them and never saw snow. He put exhausts, brakes, and tires on both; made a world of difference.
