I'm not sure. i'm hoping my steering wheel controls will just be plug and play. what do you mean by "redo them"? i'm assuming you're putting this into an older Tacoma that doesn't have a the talk button?

Probably a dumb question, but how do I know if my radio is a JL? I have a 13 Baja with the screen and it doesn't say any model or features on the face (it is definitely stock), but there is a JL audio amp behind the seats. I bought second hand, so not sure if its a JL radio or a regular...

Your 2015 should be fine. The 2012-2013 have different steering controls. Mine has the phone on/off hook, but does not have the voice button.

Anyone know how to get a vin for the premium audio with navigation for app suite purposes?

Also curious about this. Would the app even work with my unit if it was synced to another random VIN?

The VIN is needed only to register a new account for Entune suite and after that never ask for it

But only navigation units and JBL units have the entune apps, I know dealerships name some units "Entune" or "Entune Plus" but none of them has the Entune apps suite so those VINs are not worth

This worked. Thank you! I was stressing out and Toyota refused and told me youre not allowed to do that. Meanwhile, it says I can invite four more people.

    Thank you again!

Well I'm in Knoxville, TN and apparently we aren't worthy of an HD signal (which the dealership didn't tell me at time of purchase). So the weather and traffic apps on my Entune Plus HU don't even work...

Has anyone purchased a JBL version and installed it into a 2010 or Older? The power connectors appear to be different and I'd like to see how I could convert the older connector to the new style connector. Even if maybe I didn't use the JBL features. Id like to get the radio powered and functioning still.

LED interior lights. Steering wheel mod. New radio. Amp, speakers and sub woofer.
I bought the JBL version but installed it in a 2013. My plug were different also. I did have the 28 pin plug which made it easier though. What I did was buy the 10 and 6 pin connector and cut the 20 pin plug from my harness and rewired accordingly to the 10 and 6 pin. Best thing to do is get a 2 day sub and Toyota tis and get both wire diagrams and see if you can make it happen.

You will have to use the JBL feature. The radio doesn't have a built in amp. Only way to get sound out of it is to use the amp behind the back seat.

Yeah it seems like thats what I'm going to have to do as well. How can I get a 2 day sub to a toyota site though? Never done that before. Im a little confused though, why would you have to splice into the 20 pin? the 20 / 8 pin connectors are for the steering wheel controls, aux, speed sensor and blue tooth connector right? So, You wouldn't need to mess with those really. You could just get the conversion harness for that. (PT546-00120-CH) Unless I'm wrong about that...

I think you mean you had to cut off the Power / Audio connector and change it into the 6 / 10 connectors correct?

    Toyota TIS website: https://techinfo.toyota.com

Subscribe and pay for a 2 day sub. If I remember, it's like $15.

I had to cut mine as I had the 20, 28 and 6 pin. The 28 pin had steering wheel controls, mic, bluetooth. Mute, TX2+/- were on the 20 pin that needed to be moved to the 28 pin. I also had to move vss from the 6 pin to the 28 pin. No harness would do that for me. Easier to cut and put the correct connectors. Looks oem. But yes, the 10 and 6 pins are power, audio and illumination.
