I'd say most had at least somewhat reasonable expectations. Most just don't want a butt-ugly truck, and they feel like the redesign is. The front styling of the 3rd gen. looks nothing like the 2nd gen. I have liked the looks of the 2nd gen from day one. I really can't see myself warming up to the 3rd gen. too much, but time will tell.

I really like the overall look, I like the grill, it's just that huge bottom lip (front bumper) that get me...

I'd like to see a pic of not all flexed out like it's sitting on the potty trying to drop a deuce.

I think the cab is the same too. Toyota hasn't updated to disc brakes, no power seats, no heated seats, no sunroofs, dumped the reg cab, no diesel plans, and moved production to Mejico in the name of cost savings. We're supposed to believe that this same company who is hell bent on squeezing every last bit of profitability out of the Tacoma is producing 4 different cabs atm?

All of you on here are always crying about this and that not making financial sense for Toyota. What doesn't make financial sense is replacing the 2nd gen cab. It's the same cab, if you don't think so, put down the pipe.

    Hey OZ,

Just as the other guys have pointed out, the grill is hedious and seems to be unproportionate to the rest of front end. Only my opinion, but feel Toyo really missed the mark with this one!!! On the Bright side, they still have time to make a few changes!

Just hope their testing the waters to get customer feedback, or my next truck probably wont be a Taco!!

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
x2 they claim it's the same size as a 2nd gen but it looks larger to me.

$40K seems like an awful lot of money for what you get, considering this is just an update. Time will tell.

Agreed but the bed was one of the better features of the 2nd gen
Uh... there are lots of trucks longer than the dclb that park just fine. No problem for a dd.
I think it would require retrofitting and be super expensive.
Can't you call any redesign just an update? The Tacoma is expensive but it's not that far from the other midsizes. The price doesn't bother me all the much for what you get with the Tacoma.

There is a "tear away air dam" under the front bumper as well. I would lose that in the first winter I expect.

They let you get that close?
Is a plastic bumper strong enough to retain safety?

I was at an auto show in Seattle years ago when the C6 Z06 Corvette was just coming out. It was on a spinning platform with a woman guarding it. This guy just goes over some obstacles, climbs up and into the car and starts screwing with it. They really can't do anything to you. He jumps out after a few turns and the woman is noticeably pissed and she slams the door shut with her knee. LOL, that was sweet. If a 3rd gen is unlocked I would jump in and go straight for the hood release to see what that Sienna motor looks like in there.

Last year, the redesigned 2014 Tundra was like that setup on a spinning platform guarded by staff, you could not get anywhere close to it. This Taco was right by the door with minimal interest in it every time I passed by...It was locked including the tailgate, but thats about it.

Not a fan of the wheels or grill but that easily changes. Nice truck. Can't wait for my neighbour to get his.

I think it would look great with the grill blacked out. Somebody photoshop it!

Ill admit that when the second gen came out I thought it was ugly as hell and was glad to have my 1st gen, 6 months later I bought one and still think it a damned good looking truck.
