Was out at Lake Saguaro last night and some lowlife broke my window :( It was broken, but still in one piece - so they hadn't got into the truck. My wife had gone to collect the car seems like she may have heard it happening. Was kinda scary for her as it was dark (about 10pm). Luckily I had some tape in the truck so it satyed in one piece on the way home.

Not sure yet, I'll call them today. BTW I have often seen a LOT of glass in the parking lots at Saguaro.

Yeah....I dont go there anymore. Lake Pleasant is a little further, but alot nicer, with a little more "Eyes" on your vehicle.

Sucks, especially for your wife who must have been scared. At least there is no body damage. Hope the insurance pays and you can put this behind you.

Alright here is my idea... Go to local junkyards and find the few 09s that have been wrecked get there backup cams.. and then install the stratigicly in spots to have eyes on all sides of the truck.. have it record to a harddrive in the middle console and that way any fuckers try to mess with your shit.. get them on tape.. oh and rig it up so that you car puts out 10,000 volts when the alarm is set and anyone touches it for any extended period of time.

That sucks man! I'd hate to see if I catch anyone messing with my truck. I think I'll be the one going to jail.

First of all, that sucks. I hate that people don't have respect for other people's property.

Second, I never thought to keep tape in the truck for that reason. I'm putting some in mine now.

Thanks for the comments. I'm not too worried about car crime in general as my neighborhood is reasonably safe. Seems like the desert isn't though :(

The more I think about it the more I think it was some lowlife with a pellet gun. The point of impact was only about 1" from the bottom of the window - if someone had been trying to break in I would have thought that they'd hit the window in the middle.

Yeah I was lucky with the tape, had it in there left over from a job I was doing last week. Definitely worth carrying (along with a pair of gloves in case you need to handle broken glass/change a wheel).

I have a $500 deductible so will be paying out of pocket :( Anyone know any decent glass places in Phoenix? I'm not interested in paying an extra $100 to get a 'free' box of Omaha steaks!

Just spoke to a Sheriff's deputy. Apparently the easiest place to break the window is around the edges so that puts my pellet gun theory to rest. Apparently what these people do out there (and this happens a lot at Saguaro parking lot and at the camp sites) is break the window then sit and wait to see if the alarm goes off/anyone comes to investigate. Then they go back to start stealing. I would think a lot of people leave valuables in the car as opposed to risking taking them out on a boat.

There's a good chance the person was watching us collect the car/drive away. Creepy.

Check your policy. I heard a while back that all carriers are require to give 0 deductible glass coverage..

Thanks Chris. I spoke to by insurer this morning who said that, but I'll talk to my broker tomorrow to see what they say.
