I posted in the suspension thread with a bad title but I'm in a jam and could use some advice.
So I got my OME suspension from wheelers today. Driver side went in no problem. I put my passenger side strut in and while I was putting the top nuts on I realized I forgot to put the spacer in. No problem right? I only had them about half way on so I start to take them off. I get the outer two off then start to work on the one closest to the engine. Well the bolt is now spinning with the nut. I can't tighten it or loosen it. What do I do?! My plan right now is to put everything together and tighten the outermost two nuts and take it to a shop on Monday. Will it be OK to drive with one nut not tight?

Can you get a pry bar under the nut in between the nut and mount?
Maybe apply just enough force to seat the bolt to back the nut off?

I think I figured out what happened. The driver side nuts that Wheelers supplied were VERY hard to get on. Same with the passenger side. I put the original nuts on and they went on easily. Pretty sure the ones they supplied were slightly too small and I stripped the bolt out of its housing...

i did the same thing. Basically I threaded on 2 more nuts and tightened them together and them used them with a wrench to keep it from spinning while loosening the original stuck bolts

sounds weird but has worked for me twice

They could have been lock nuts that are slightly oval in shape to keep them from backing out, those are always hard to thread on. Once you back them out, you either booger up the threads on the nut or shaft, whichever is harder (giggity)

    Oh yea not good..
Come to think of it. When I replace a friends front shocks on his ford the new nuts where the same way. But not overly tight to strip out the pressed in bolt.

    Slodc4 idea will work...

Is it okay to drive around for a while with only two nuts tightened? If the bolt is stripped I can get a new bolt but if the top hat is stripped I need a new one of those. Either way I'm taking apart the strut and I don't have the tools or the time to do it this weekend. I put LR UCA's in too and have an alignment scheduled for Monday. Am I good to drive like that for a couple of weeks? No offloading in my future... I appreciate all the help.

Yea having two nuts won't hurt at all. You could do it for extra assurance.

If you only got the nut on 1/2 way there should be room under the nut to grip the stud with a slim nose vice grip and allow you to get the nut off and remove the part then maybe you can replace or tighten the stud enough to thread on a non locking nut with a lock washer

Tightened everything up and took it for a drive. Went over the first speed bump and heard a clank sound. Went over like ten more and nothing. Actually rode really well and my alignment was surprisingly really good. One weird thing is I have the taco lean spacer and the 10 mil spacer on the driver side, nothing on the passenger side. I am exactly level. Will keep an eye on it to see if it settles different. Doing the rear tomorrow.
