No problem, ask for Brian the service manager to avoid a bunch of nonsense

Let us know how it turns out, and anything to potentially look out for afterward.

My parts list from the replacement doesn't include any motor mounts on the invoice.

It's a no brainier then, going to purchase a new set off of Partsgeek for 67 a piece and while I'm at it, Might as well go ahead and have the driveshaft u-joints replaced since she has 105K on her :)

Hmmmmm, New muffler might be in the cards also because you don't get an opportunity like this very often!!!!

2006 4x4 TRD with 195k, failed inspection and frame ordered. The mechanic said there is a lot of trucks getting this fix, no cars though. Anyone know the cost of this fix?

Out of curiosity, have there been any frame failures on trucks that had the electronic rust inhibitor installed?

Any recalls or frame replacement for T4R? If so what was the outcome?

I put a engine in a 05 last week that had a frame recall. It was a total nightmare as far as the frame recall that Toyota had done. What ever they used to coat the frame was like black liquid tar. I would of thought it should be hard like the stuff that the guy that did my 68 Mustang put on. It is hard as a rock. I work at a repair shop that has a used car sales up front. And I told them that I could just see this stuff running off of the frame when it gets hot outside ! I think the dealership cut corners and didn't use any hardner ? Can't say for sure as I have never actually seen one that has been done before !

That's what everyone else has reported as well. It sounds like what you got was what everyone else got. It's supposed to be a mess.

I got the call last on Tuesday that my frame had arrived at the dealer, it had taken the scenic route – after being shipped to Williams Lake instead of Kamloops, then returning through Edmonton. The next day April 8th, my truck went in and I got the keys to a ’14 Corolla.
They expected it to be done Saturday, but I got the call late Friday that it would be ready at the end of the day. I picked it up just before closing and it looked great. Everything had gone well, they had two Technicians put over 40 hours into it and really did a great job. I had a brand new catback I sourced off kijiji installed in place of the old rusted out muffler, and had them take off the keyed wheel locks and replace with 4 regular wheel nuts. My cost was $15 for the wheel nuts, and the other $12000 or so was covered under warranty.

We spent the weekend putting it through its paces and I can say that it does feel like a newer truck. The leaf pack in the rear went from the 3leaf to the 4leaf set, and everything else has been checked over and tightened up. New exhaust means it’s quiet again. I’m giving it another few days before I put all my gear back on, canopy and lightbars, etc.. but I see no reason for it to need any more work.

The Dealership, especially the Service Manager, really impressed me throughout the process, there was no hassle, and no question of putting that much work into an 'older' truck. The only issue was the wait for the frame but that was out of their control and they kept me up to date on where it was the entire time.

This just in! I was looking at the Toyota Owners site this past Sunday when I noticed this little gem (posted below) had popped up for my truck. I have been getting the middle finger from corporate for the last year on getting my frame replaced. Finally getting some love it would appear! Truck goes in (for the third time) on Friday.

Mine was diagnosed in December and I waited until spring for the replacement to avoid the winter salt. Only two days in the shop. (Just because I had them fix my running board lights and changed some fluids.) Service Department was great and let me take a ton of pictures. I also asked the service guys doing the work a lot of questions throughout the day. I have 133,000 miles on mine.

Hell ya James! Glad to hear that man, Good luck. Mine's still there 4 months later, but hopefully worth the wait.
