Fair enough. Button is one of the cleanest drivers in the sport, but he blew it on this one.

I thought the race was boring. It was clear that Hamilton was driving just hard enough to stay in front, which is what he should do of course but which angered Rosberg. Yawn. Kimi catching Seb was the one possible bright spot at the front, but the safety car ended that. Yawn.

 

I really hated that Verstappen had to retire so close to the end. I'm sure that he will be in the points again.

 

#2 in the Mercedes garage, #3 in the driver's championship.

I agree, seeing both McLarens finish was gratifying. McLaren is improving rapidly; then again they are in that part of their program where advancements come in big chunks. The last 2 seconds per lap will be the hardest. I hope they finish the season challenging Williams if not Ferrari. I think the chassis is much better than last year, and now that they have shown reliability I'm anticipating Honda turning up the wick. My biggest surprise on that team is that Alonso is not markedly faster than Button. (I'll stop right there.)

Vettel has certainly made a big difference at Ferrari, for the team and for himself. The difference in his demeanor between last year and this year is amazing. (Makes me wonder if there were Horner-ific moments behind the scenes that soured him on the team early in the 2014 season.) I think Kimi's pace is a better gauge of the team's progress though. The car is much better than last year. Easier to drive and more powerful. All that said, Ferrari is not my favorite team. I like seeing someone challenge Mercedes but I'd rather it was Williams, or McLaren, or Sauber.

Hamilton was most certainly backing Rosberg up into Vettel

 

Rosberg didn't have the speed to pass Hamilton and was staying 2 seconds back to preserve his tires , so Hamilton started slowing down which was forcing Rosberg back towards Vettel

If he attacked , Hamilton would just speed back up and Rosberg's tires wouldn't last costing him a potential extra pit stop or lap time so slow that Vettel and possibly Raikkonen could overtake .

Mercedes actually asked Hamilton to speed back up to keep Rosberg out of Vettel's reach

Not all that team first , just sayin
