That is exactly what my bags look like with 10 lbs of pressure in them when I raise my truck from the hitch. The bags don't extend with the cradles because the have a little air pressure in them. Put 10 lbs of pressure in your bags...hell...put 20 lbs of pressure in them & jack up your truck from the hitch or frame and look what happens.

If you think you're only dealing with 200lbs of weight from the bed, you need to think again.

Ok. That truck is offroading. What weight am I dealing with?

Edit: the bags can take 10,000lbs I'm sure 400 pounds max will harm the bags.....

It doesn't just have to be an off-roading situation. One large pothole could cause the same effect.

You are looking at this like you're dealing with static loads...which is not the way to look at it. When you are dealing with weight in motion (dynamic), the effects can be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than a static situation. Ignore the cheesy music, but this video gives a short explanation of the differences between the 2.

I use a bike floor pump with no issues. I don't see why a hand pump would not work. Just make sure it is for a schrader valve and not presta valve. My small mtb hand pump is presta only.

Back to the original topic. Here's another example of how good it is to have bags:

Thats what I got mine for also.....Hauling wood. ( nice looking load of wood ) Had them since 2011 no problems. I run them with the daystar cradles and have had no problems, stock suspension . Some say not to run the cradles....you will have to decide for yourself. A bicycle hand pump works great , only takes 3-4 pumps per side.

Is it just me that thinks that the weight distribution of that trailer looks wrong?? Should only be about 15% of the trailer weight on the hitch. Per the replacement of the wheel it looks like 40% ?? I'd think without the air bags that hitch would drag on the pavement?

The hitch wouldn't be on the pavement. The bump stops hitting axle would stop it...

Quick question: For you guys that received your Ride-Rite kit, did all the parts come loose in the box?

My kit was delivered today and the parts were just loose in the box. The brackets are all scratched up and missing paint. I'm worried about rust and looks like I will have to repaint all of them.

My brackets and bags came loose in the box but the bolts/nuts were in a plastic bag. The zip ties and air hoses were in a separate plastic bag.

Thanks for letting me know. I thought maybe they sent me a used kit since it was so poorly packaged. I will be sending them an email about it.
