I'm 1 to 2 week away from purchasing my new (to me) Tacoma. Due to some life changes, I needed to sell my motorcycle and funds are being invested in a truck.

Here's what I'm looking at with the research (and guidance from a good friend) I've done thus far:

2007-2010 Tacoma Double Cab w/ TRD Off Road kit
    100k(ish) miles
    I will be adding:
Ham radio (VHF/UHF though not sure about mobile HF, but might look at that)
Largest tires the truck will accommodate (I think 265/70/16) - not quite sure about tread pattern
    Proper bumpers and nerf bar
    Wench
Likely a roof rack and some interior storage mods

The truck will not be my daily driver and be primarily used in the upper mid-west for deep woods camping, range trips, some playing at off road parks, remote lake fishing, etc. Also, I want this to be over-built for it's intended use.

I'm here to listen and learn so I'm looking for any suggestions, feedback, and comments.

    Cheers.
    -Eric-

You can go 265/75/16 with stock suspension, by the way!

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Except from those of us who can't help but point out that a winch goes on the front of your rig and a wench sits on the seat next to you.

I just keep wondering why everyone recommends the worn wench ... or is it warn winch. (dang typos)
