Took a camping trip to Joshua Tree National Park. It's a beautiful place to get out and relax. I'll have more photos of the trip soon.

Do you have a pic of how your cab mounts currently look? I'm chopping mine, but I'm afraid I have gone a little too far.

Thanks. That place definitely has some badass photo opportunities! I need to get a fancy camera and get on your level. I'm always impressed with your work. A question about that, I notice when I upload them to TW the quality goes to shit. Would I need to use an image host to embed a better quality photo?

Did you cut anything off your pinch weld, or just pound it in towards the outside of the truck?

 

Just pounded it towards the outside. I would have taken more off but didn't want to start grinding down that bolt on top too much.

 

my experience is flickr has the best quality for a free hosting site....

photobucket isn't too bad either....

i use photobucket for my general photos then i use flickr for my "good" photos

The plan is to mount a solar panel and make a solar shower or something similar to the Road Shower to mount up there for camping trips. Jumping ahead of the build but here's a few more. More info to follow on the rack/install.

Hey Nate can you post some pictures of what you sanded down on the snorkel and how the lines are while it's mounted?

I ended up filing down in mainly two spots. First was in the lower front area of the snorkel. It has a contour to it that fits whatever vehicle that it's meant for and not the Tacoma. My goal was to get it to sit a little more flush than what it was. Ohh, and don't mind the scratches you see there. That's from leaving the snorkel in the bed so it got banged up for a couple weeks back there.


Next I sanded down the spot in the rear, right behind the antenna. Again, just trying to flatten the contour to have it sit a little more flush.


Here is shot from under. You can still see how that spot I filed still contacts the fender, but not as much as it did before.

Thanks! It's been a blast taking the truck on long camping trips and out exploring. It makes all the time put into it worth it.

 

Damn! Can't wait to see the solar setup. How did you get the rack mounted? It's the one thing I like about the four doors.

 

I had to drill the holes into the roof after trying to figure out exactly where I wanted it to sit. Asked a bunch of members here on their measurements and went from there. I'll eventually get some photos of the process up for all the access cab folks.

 

Hey Nate, are you re-geared? Here in a matter of weeks I'm going from stock to 315's, was wondering if you were re-geared. Also, if not, how does she drive. I know I will eventually be doing it, but just curious how it is now? Thanks.
