Checked mine the other day while rotating tires - driver's side has a ton of slop already @32k on the clock .
Is it worth installing the bushing now before anymore damage is done ? I've got a bit of steering wheel shake at different speeds but no noise yet .

I'd say yes before it damages the CV axle and you have to buy a new one

Yeah , $60 bushing sounds way better than a short azz needle bearing . Can't believe they designed the clamshell front gear with no internal machined surface for the diff spider gears , dumb . Wonder just how long the ptfe material will hold up to our crazy rough roads in Illinois - I'm sure that's part of the problem as it only has 32k on the clock .

I got mine installed today! Was quite surprised at how easy the install was. The ECGS needle bearing puller tool worked great. Got it all back together with a new axle to boot and first drive was beautifully quiet and vibration free!! LOVE IT!!

Anybody going to sell the tool for less, now that you're done?

^ LMAO ^ Hey the up down side to side slop is greatly reduced. The CV still moves in and out a little. I'm wondering if maybe that's why I get this clank noise when I hit a dip in the road? I've posted in other threads and tightened everything down and tried removed the sway bar and skids and still the clank remains. Arrg! BTW it was there long before I did the ECGS bushing.

I just found a tear in my inner CV boot, I am going to do this while I am in there, anyone have a removal tool they would be willing to sell a little cheaper or donate? I would be happy to send it on to the next guy after I am finished to pay it forward.

I only asked because skimming through the 114 pages of info. It seemed like this bushing was still in the trial stage.

It's all good brother. It is beyond the trial stages and yes it does work with an incredible success rate.

I am happy to report all vibration issues are gone. It did take a better part of a Saturday to complete the swap and change the diff fluid front and rear while I was at it. Never would have got the CV shaft out without help from QNYLA coming over with the cable and sledge! My truck only has ~22,500 miles for reference. Lame, but never going to be a problem again.

some members wrap a cable around the inner section of the driveshaft and the other end attached to a sledge hammer. Then they "shock" it out by swinging the sledge hammer out away from the truck. I did not have to do it that way, mine popped out with just a slide hammer and a couple of arms from a puller.
