I understand, both ford and GM have a power sliding window, not sure if the access cab tundra sliding window is power, the crew cab is a complete power down window. The point I was making is the GM twins don't have power sliders, Toyota likely wont either, carry over part from current gen and usually toys are in the full size trucks, which is how they attract buyers or get buyers to move up sizes. If you offered all the frills in the smaller trucks you take away from model share and profitability in the bigger trucks. I wasn't trying to attack you personally just its clear from pictures inside the cab and out its not automatic and some of the people on here want this and that and forget its a mid sized truck. Yes we love them and it would be perfect if it had all those things but all those things increase price which then wanders into full size pricing ,etc. etc.

Of course, It would be nice to have the power down rear, I really liked it in the
Nissan Titan I had prior to the taco. I would've liked to have seen side mirror
defrosters on the new one as well. I know the auto down isn't an option
but haven't heard anything on the defroster feature.

    I didn't think you were.
But I mean it's too early to say till we actually see it. Everything anyone has seen thus far has been pre production.
I don't think it is any more outragous than putting a push to start on a truck.
But again that's just my opinion lol.

Yes. Rear disc brakes are unnecessary.

    Just the basics
Orange looks good. Not sure I'd buy one personally.
I remember all sorts of grill hate with the last refresh of the 2nd gen. Now crickets. Same thing will happen with the 3rd gen. The chrome is bad but the front end looks ok. It will look great either blacked out or with an aftermarket grill. Only a matter of time.

Guess you missed the reviews of the Colorado performing much better than the 2015 Tacoma in down hill towing control/braking.

Unnecessary? Maybe for you. But the only thing Toyota can do is go big ass drums like a semi truck or 4 wheel discs, wow, I wonder what they're gonna do.

3rd gens with factory tow package will have 4 wheel disc brakes.

    Just curious...
Where did you hear that factory tow package will have disc brake? I thought Toyota had come out and said that the drums were efficient enough and they were not going to discs.

    I would love discs tho...

Still dont care. Most reviews say the GM twins are better than the Tacoma and if you want one, buy one. Drums are more than efficient enough on the rear of a pick-up truck, especially on a mid-size.

I didn't see it anywhere. It's just common sense and I think it'll happen. Toyota isn't going to make a truck wtih 7000+ pound towing capacity with sub par breaks. The only reasonable thing to do is go up to disc brakes.

Touched a nerve I see. I just posted up facts from real world reviews from guys who have actually towed a heavy load with both trucks and you go off. Get your plane ticket to Detroit and go cry to GM about it. Facts are facts, the disc breaks on the 2nd gen are now INFERIOR. Adequate in most cases, yes. But inferior to a direct competitor.

It's just real world efficiency/safety, but who cares about all that stuff right?

No nerve, you asked a question and I answered. You are entitled to your opinion and I still do not care.

Sorry bud disc brakes are not going to happen, even with tow package. Wishful thinking

Premium tech package with JBL, 2" Rough Country lift, 265/70/17 BFG Rugged Terrains, AVS in-channel rain guards, all weather floor mats, bed mat...
Rear drums are confirmed in the interview video posted months ago.

Throw the Limited grill on the TRD Sport and the bling problems are solved.

Edit: I don't understand why it isn't switch around that way stock...the Limited is basically a chrome package.

The rear drum does surprise me a bit. I find the braking a bit weak on the 2015 as it is, and fully expected 4 wheel disc in the 2016. I guess I have just come to expect drum brakes to be a thing of the past. As it is, when my warranty expires I will likely be looking at some sort of brake upgrade and switching to a rear wheel disc (if it can be done...haven't researched it at all).

I seriously considered waiting for the 16, but the more I learn the less I needed to. In terms of options I pick, the only rear difference would be the engine.

    seriously this discussion again.

A composite bed truck does not need rear disks... if you were to turn your abs off and actually go out and test your braking in your 2015... you would find that the rears will lock up WAY WAY before the fronts do.... rear disks would be 100% useless.

And for the argument of towing....

If you are towing something big enough to warrant the need for rear disks, you are towing something that is WAY WAY to big for a 4300lb truck. Next if you are towing something above 3000lbs you are more than likely LEGALLY required to have trailer brakes...

If you download the high-res image of this photo on the toyota.ca site (photo 25), you can see where the trim around the headunit appears to be orange as well, or color-coded. Wonder if this is a sport specific 'luxury'?

^Not gonna lie. That's the FIRST picture I've seen of the new Tacoma where I didn't think it was ugly.

The underbite still kills me though :(

The more I see it the more I like it. Honestly I think it's going to be something that grows on people. I felt the same way about the refreshed 4Runner. Didn't like it initially but it's grown on me and now I kind of dig it.

Plus all we know about the new Taco is what we see in pictures. I'm sure once more information comes out that people will find something else to complaint about (EPA, brakes, seats, etc etc).

Reminds me of the old Terra Cotta color they used back in the 80's.
