Hell no. I want something subtle if I do anything. I want the kids to actually be able to sleep back there, haha.

I think you should try three mufflers in a row, just to see how quiet you can get it.

Funny you should mention that. Stock, it basically has 2. There's a small resonator in the front, then a muffler in the back. The Roush exhaust muffler straight pipes past the resonator and the muffler is the same size as the small stock resonator.

Hey guys, new to the forum and just found the NE/BS thread. Anyone have a shop in the SE mass(or nearby) that they love? Im having all the typical issues with my 2009 taco, driveline vibration, rear suspension, occasional death wobble. I've been to the dealer, no luck. Went to the guy in my town who did a bearing which made things alot better but just made me notice other issues more. any suggestions ?

Death wobble was an issue common to vehicles with a solid front axle. You should absolutely never have a death wobble situation in your Tacoma. If you do, you have some serious issues with your front end that need to get sorted out immediately.

What are you trying to accomplish? Most dealers will just write it off as normal. If you take it to a shop, trying to chase subtle vibrations out of your truck could prove to be a futile, and expensive, exercise.

I know chasing this vibration may take time and cash (hopefully not alot). But its getting to the point of driving me crazy. the death wobble I mentioned Happens only in rain on the highway, it feels related the the vibration in that they are "synced up" for lack of a better term. it goes from feeling like an unbalanced tire at 30-50 to a wobble at 50+. Im on the highway every day for work and I kinda just cringe the whole time.

previously I brought the truck to Mcgee toyota on the south shore(did nothing), then to my local mechanic who did an alignment/balance then a bearing.

Copeland in Brockton has always been good. I usually use Bruce's Auto in Hanover

Meh, Copeland has claimed every issue I've had with my truck is due to having the TRD package, including a seat rattle I could replicate with the truck stationary. Refused to look at my driveline vibes because of my BFGs.

They're great for regular maintenance outside of one service manager. I asked for synthetic because they use m1 5w-30. Service writer wrote 0w-20 and I corrected him that it was 5w-30. He calls over a manager and asks how to code it and explains how I mentioed it was 5w-30 and not 0w-20. The manager snarled is that what it says on the oil cap? I offered to pop my hood for him. Maybe a bit sarcastic but I was taken aback by the initial comment.

Luckily for me Route 44 denied me TSB work because of the bumper. (Sigh)

Copeland will be fine if you have a bone stock truck and deal with simple tasks. I haven't had to take anything back to them that they did.

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the Ipswich-area or anywhere along Rt. 1A between Ipswich and Salem (MA). I need my front bearings replaced and don't have the time. Thanks.

I can't believe your having wobble issues with a ifs set up. It could be you steering rack, maybe tie rods. But the steering shaft is likely your problem
There is a right up somewhere on that, if it's just vibration could be a ujoint
