It used to happen rarely, but its getting worse now. Iwill turn the steering wheel and the doors ajar dash light comes on as well as dome light. I make a slight move with steering and it goes out. Also I am driving straight and turn the heat/cool fan on it the lights come on sometimes as well, more often when it is in the high speed mode, then when I turn fan off the lights almost always go out...So far those two seem to cause the lights to come on whether seperately or together....weird. I thought maybe someone would figure this out right away here, I was thinking maybe wires rubbing on steering column or bad battery....but who knows...everything is stock on it.

    Thanks!

When it first started, it was only once in a while when making a turn, then it would come on for a sec and go away right away...very rarely, and I think only when I first started the truck in the morning and drove first 5 min....

LOL thanks, I am gonna get the thing checked out next week, I just don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for some guy to test everything and poke around...I just turned the dome light off so it doesn't come on by itself in the middle of the night, but the dash light comes on...hopefully the red dash light won't kill my battery!

It's possible one of your doors is out of adjustment or one of the switches is whacky. Have someone push and pull on each door without touching the handle as you watch the dash light to find the culprit.

The body flexes when turning and going over bumps and the doors move slightly so one if the door switches is being disrupted.

Did you resolve this problem? I'm having the issue on right turns only. Thanks for your feedback in advance.

I think I did, i am not sure which door is usually the culprit, or which switch is most sensitive, but I open all the doors including the extended cab doors and then give them a good slamming shut, it fixes the issue as far as I have noticed lately.

I'm guessing the piece your door latch clips to is worn. I think it can be rotated 180 to fix this. If it can't, it should be an inexpensive part to replace. This is assuming you have an older truck. I don't see your year listed.
Slamming could lead to other problems...
