I know it’s a matter of preference and the truck isavailable with or without the scoop but to me a hood-scoop on a truck justlooks a little strange.

of course, was just curious if the overall shape of it or the scoop
itself is what turned you off. I prefer it, I love the look and will do
    the same on the 2016.

I like it. Got some updated changes to make it more modern but still has that Tacoma look to it. With the better gas mileage it is bound to get Tacoma owners to upgrade if looking.

99% sure it's a vinyl overlay like on the car models. They're all painted underneath. I have put them on whenever I replace Toyota doors at work.

Better at what, not having an awesome non-functional scoop?

I wouldn't look too closely at the differences. I was doing that as well but seeing how it looks like the sport is going to have color-matched accents on the interior and a sun roof option, both of which were not even options in the 2nd gen, it looks like there are going to be a lot of differences.

    If I had to guess:

Limited will have 18 inch rims still, leather and some nicer electronics (Qi charging) and a lot of chrome. Sport will have 17 inch rims, stuff like the Qi charging and sun roof will be options instead of standard, and besides the grill, will be more color matched. I love the limited and think the grill looks better, but I would rather have the upgraded suspension on the sport (if they follow the 2nd gen pattern) than a couple of extra options on the inside. I do plan on switching out the TRD sport grill with the limited grill asap though.

As long as the engine is just as reliable 2nd gen, we have a winner.

I'm good, thanks for your concern, though. I was simply responding to the person claiming everyone not overly excited about the redesign is just jealous.

    OMG!
Memories. That's the color and year of my first Toyota pickup.
I've always loved that red. Terra Cotta sums it up well. Great image, good find.

I even had that brush guard.

My other main gripe with the gen 3 is that the cab and the front/rear end look like they had different people design them (and I guess they pretty much did if you think about it). The front and and rear have a relatively sharp angles and countours while the cab looks plain Jane. Pretty much the exact same as the gen 2. I really wish they would have added some of those design cues of the front/rear to the cab. Almost looks like the truck was thrown together with spare parts...and again...it kinda was I guess...

The frame of the cab is carryover the the door skins are not exactly the same, thay are similar but thats it. The angle of the rear window on bottom left is more pronounced vs the gen 2

The TRD Off Road had it in the pics post at the Jan reveal. Don't know if it's an option or standard yet. I would have to assume that the TRD Sport would be on par with those features. So, most likely.

I'd like to see some interior pics of the Sport. Gotta be floating around somewhere soon!
