I didn't use any fuses inbetween. Just straight wired between the ACR and Batteries. My runs are less than 18" though.

Dewd, the MLACR has that feature in the way of blinks.

My runs will be about the same length, but everything I've read (note, I'm a newb with this stuff) says to use fuses. Even the BSS graph on the box shows fuses between the ACR and each battery. My basic plan so far was to use this example as a base reference. However, I will switch out the solinoid with the ACR. I wasn't sure what fuse size as a result.

Can you explain to me why you skipped the fuses?

I'll be using 4ga wire for mine. So in your opinion would 80a be a good choice?

I would have a look here and consider HEAVIER/ THICKER gauge wire. What length of wire are you going to be running again?

Anything battery/ power related, I prefer as thick as I am able to.

x2 on the ML-ACR being an easy install. Pretty straightforward but it took me a while because I wanted to make it pretty :D

btw, I forgot to update this thread with my dual volt gauge:

Didn't know that. When I dug into the instructions, I did find that they blink fast when they reach an undervoltage condition at 9.6V when isolated or 19.2V when combined. There doesn't appear to be any scaling to the indication though such as the Slee LEDs or NL indication panel.

On a similar note, are the Stinger terminal voltmeters reliable/solid equipment? I'm debating between using those or putting a small 12V LED readout with a DPDT switch to check battery voltage when I want.

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
For those of you that put both batteries in the stock location, what battery box/tray system did you go with? Or how did you mount them.

On the first paragraph, yes, your right. No scaling. Thats where people are getting the small dual meters/ gauges, etc.

I love my stinger terminals. Had no issues with them so far. One led went out. Resolved it with them to exchange mine. That was an issue of a pressure washer @4k psi and a buddy meaning well. You know how that story ends.

I used the 2 group 31's in the stock location. They did NOT fit without some moving around of things. Cut out the battery hangar. Relocated my fuse block farther back towards the firewall. Removed the battery tray. Then I drilled a couple holes and used huge hose clamps to hold them there.

I have been meaning to get a welder, and when I do, then fab some custom brackets for things and other projects.

Take a look at this page. It has a couple battery monitoring systems/ gauges.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/au...ets-see-them-multiple-batterys-thread-25.html

I like the look of the PROJECTA - want it the size of a carlin style switch though.

The Smart switches, wow. I have wanted to use them for years. Still think they are the wrong form factor for the application we are using them in. I need to start a company and hire on some like minded people to help me get these projects off the ground. So much potential.

I'm going with the Columbia Overland setup.

I haven't installed it yet, but the customer service is great.

The batteries will sitting side by side. Not sure how far the ML-ACR will be from the batteries, but it will be as close as possible.

When I look at the directions, it says NOT to use an in line circuit protection if you want to use the ML-ACR as an emergency cross connect (self jump)....am I reading that right???? Look at this link http://assets.bluesea.com/files/resources/instructions/990180180.pdf

I used the columbia overland tray in my 2014 tacoma, I used two group 34 sears diehards and I had to heavily modify the tray and the fender of the truck to make it work. It was a ton of work but Im happy with how it turned out. The customer service was great at Columbia overland while I was ordering their product and sending them money but their tray definitely does not just drop in with the batteries I choose to use. I was assured multiple times that the tray was perfect for my application .
