Anyone with a demello off road front (or even rear) bumper interested in making 300$?

Nevermind. Was trying to get a base frame for making my own but apparently even the thought of doing so (even with no intent of copying, not making more than one, nor doing so for profit) made everyone freak the %$ck out. -.-

Only if the product has been copyrighted.

If I were that skilled, I'd use photo's as a guide, then adapt it as I went along... I would end up learning more.

It doesn't have to be copyrighted per say. As soon as the maker/author of the work writes it down on paper it becomes copyrighted. So I would assume that the original sketches and the final drawings count as copyright because they are written down.

The original owner would have to file with the copyright office to file infringement charges though

 

Yea I'd design your own front and rear bumpers and not go about completely copying someone else's design. There are a few guys I've seen on here that have detailed write-ups of their custom made bumpers; they show you pretty much exactly how they cut all the metal, fabricated the bumper, painted it, and installed it. You could also PM them and see if they're willing to let you copy their design or offer tips, tricks, maybe they even live near you.

OP you better rethink that idea... I mean it would be different if you wanted to measure one up for your own bumper design or see how it was put together. But outright copying is stupid.
