    As long as it's a big enough gauge ie, 0,2 or 4 for the main in. The wires running to your switches really depend on the amount of amps being pulled to determine the right size. But you can never go too big, but can definitely not have big enough wire. There is a formula to figure out the proper size needed. I would post it but my brain is fried and I'm too darn tired to dig it up right now. If you can't find it I'll post it tomorrow.
