Funny to see people "back out" to a non existent list as of yet.

    Build thread in signature.
If it is the same discount as the last groupbuy I'm in for a Mt. Shasta.

The group buy is not active yet. Bobby will announce that and start an official thread when he's ready (receives the tents in stock). This is just a BS thread for questions and general information

It'll cost you more to have it shipped than it will for you to go to Bend and pick it up.

CVT will start the ACTUAL GP thread sometime around the 15th of April. This was a feeler thread. The discount will be 20% and there will be a limited number of tents available (however this is all hearsay and the CVT team will release all details in about a week in a separate thread

After a ton of research and countless questions and reading, I'm going to go with a different manufacturer for a few reasons. Hope it all works out for everyone that goes thru with the GB!

Not really the way I see it.

I was looking at a Mt. Bachelor. The price, after the 20% off and plus shipping, comes out to $1,156.

Alternatively, Tepui has their Kukenum, much the same in design, for $1,050. I can get 10% off of that, and the shipping is cheaper by 50 bucks, bringing it to $1,230… and that's including the annex added on to the price.

With that I get the peace of mind in quality control, slightly better materials, and personally I think it looks better. The ladder design is to be debated, but as others have proven, should it fail for some reason, it's quickly replaced. In the meantime, it's a little lower profile which is good since I'll be mounting it to my bed rack. All that, and I don't have to worry about a snafu with the group buy like I've read about here in the past.

So if you're referring to "my loss" being the extra measly 74 bucks I'm paying over what I would in the upcoming group buy cluster, then sure, I suppose you're right. For me personally though, at the price of a bar tab, I'd rather have the peace of mind and maybe better materials along with quick product support. Plus, I'll probably have my tent on and in use within two weeks. I'm a fan of that.

    But sure. My loss.

Supposed to be for tomorrow, this thread is for the Colorado shipping basically. The group buy is open for everyone when they open it.

I just want to make sure I clarify what you are saying.

I do not get the quality control thing...Is it because their person is American and ours is Asian that checks all of the tents? We do have someone that inspects all of ours also. Does this mean that they have no issues with their products? We all have issues now and then because said person can only inspect each one not use each one.
And as far as quality goes you can compare our standard to their standard. That is enough said.
As far as taking care of any issues we have with our products....when that does happen it is quickly replaced.
Snafu with the GB? Of course we did. There are plenty of reasons why, but we have already hashed all of that out last year.
Our customers will also have their products too. I do know that said company is having as much/many problems as we are with ports etc...

All in all I do not get bickering and differences between anyone as we are all here to work together and help one another. This is what makes it even tougher to do things like a gb.

    I have said my peace.
    Thank you for your time,

    Bobby

At long last the CVT group-buy is here! We know that many of you have been waiting for this all year, and we are thankful for your support. While we have containers stuck in port we have decided that you have waited long enough to place your orders. Indeed, we learned a lot from the group-buy last year and because of that we have decided to do things a little different this time around. This change is driven by the fact that the code for the group-buy was posted all over the Internet and this is something that we see as a perk for forum members. The first 50 to call on 4/17/15 starting at 7 am PST will receive the group-buy price of 20% off.
This group-buy is something that we offer to the forum members and them alone, so when you call we are going to ask what forum you belong to, your forum name and your phone number so please have all of that ready. In order to be one of the people that get’s a golden ticket you will have to talk with one of the CVT staff. Once we reach 50 people we will stop answering phones until regular business hours. For those of you in the 50, we will call you back to take your billing and shipping information once we have established the list.
What products we do not have in stock we anticipate having with in a month, as we do have containers sitting at port now waiting to get on the rail system to be delivered to our warehouse. If that is an uncomfortable amount of time to wait then you might want to rethink being a part of this GB.
On Friday we can be reached at
    541-312-8368
    541- 419-2790
    541-788-3400

    Thank you again,

    CVT
