I have about 17k on the truck and occasionally maybe once a week it has trouble starting, sounds like a dead battery sound but I have an ultra gauge reading out 14 volts. Today it wouldn't turn over for about a minute, it would try cranking and I would stop and try again maybe tried 3 times. Anyone who can throw out ideas would be really appreciated. Some other maybe useful info about at least today's incident it was on level ground with a quarter tank of gas with the temperature around 75 degrees. Thanks a lot!

Try this, put your key in a starting position and let it for a few second then start it, it works for me, It seem like the fuel pump is not acting right away like it should be. By doing what I suggest you are priming the injector.

Are you saying that the engine will not turn over at all sometimes, or that it turns over but doesn't start up? Slow drag on starter?

Your battery could be fine on showing voltage, but the CCA could be low. Also you could have a poor connection at the battery or starter, or even a bad ground to the engine block. All of these will show a good voltage reading, but have poor current transfer, which will result in slow cranking, or no cranking.

like it will crank for maybe 30 seconds then turn on but start at a very low rpm and work its way up, tomorrow I will check the connections to the battery and such but was is CCA?

Tacomas have very poor battery connectors to the battery... if you remove one, you will see that the contact area is VERY small....like 2.... 1/8" strips around the post... I've had to keep mine clean, or I've got an issue... try that...

CCA is cold cranking amps. It is the amount of amps that a battery is capable of at 0ºF.

I tighten the negative connector with a multitool and parked it in the same spot it usually has trouble starting and start fine that might have been the fix? It seems it may have but I dont want to jinx anything till I give it another go tomorrow
