    The cap will only cover the top. Salt will still get at the bottom half. I've considered making neoprene booties for mine but with as dry a climate as I live in, not really feeling much need.

    I do like my caps though. Keeps the sand and mud out from sitting in the top cup.

    if the uni-ball is made out of stainless steel or aluminum i wouldnt be worried but i cant find that info.

    The uniball ones from Light Racing had issues. Not the normal ball joint ones.

    Icon is the only brand that makes a cap for Uniball UCAs.

    the normal ball joint ones from Light racing will last much longer and require basically no maintenance and be good for 100k or so vs a Uniball will need to be replaced between 30-60k and need cleaned and lubed.

    They are stainless or chormoly. definitely not aluminum. Ever haha

    I didn't realize that LR made a uniball version. I thought camburg was the only company to make both a ball-joint type and a uniball type UCA,

    if they last 2 winters i guess thats fine with me. unless i cant think off a way to help protect them during the winter months at least. either way i think i'll go with the Allpros cause there made of chromoly and the uni-ball is stronger for offroading :D

    They have only had a uniball for 3?ish years? had a bunch fail. The tubing would separate from the bolt mount at the shock tower.

    I didn't know camburg made a ball joint UCA.

    Yes, but I have a gand total of 8 bullets. 8 Large bullets, but 8 none the less. So in a desperate situation it definately could double as a hammer lol.

    Monte, how many companies sell the replacements for the regular style ball joints? Can you only get them through Wheelers? Also, they do make billit aluminium arms, just not the uni-ball lol

    Yeah, they do but it looks like 2nd gen only, can't find a 1st gen version.

    Also, I'm not able to find an LR uniball version or any refference to one, past or present.

    Looks like LR only makes a ball-joint type which they have had problems with. Though the failures may be limited to early models. Also reports of rubber bushing failures too.

    OEM style ball joints?

    Id just get those from Toyota.

    The light racing ball joints are inverted from OEM ones. Easier to take out and replace. Probably have to get that from light racing.

    The only UCA that is bilit that I'm aware of is by icon. And that may be a 2nd gen thing..

    Yeah, I was talking about replacements for the Light racing UCA. I know Icon makes Aluminium arms for 4th gen 4runners. I kind of forgot where I was for a minute.

    As far as UCAs go though, you would recomend the LR style UCA as opposed to a uniball? As previously stated, I dont wheel hard. I just want to fix alignment issues when I go to a different lift and 35s.

    The new LRs have the new poly bushings. The arms are actually pretty beefy in person.

    I was debating between All Pros and LR also. With the fixes and price of the LR and also reading some builds of people running them like box rocket I concluded that they should be fine. I went with LR for cost and adjustability. I wasn't sure if the all pros give you 3* or 2* of caster. I like that LR provides up to 4*. Believe the also offer just as much travel as uniballs. Headstrong has them for $400 delivered. Read that some people are getting them on eBay for $366 delivered.

    Yea, my main concern is just how the uni-ball is exposed to the elements is all. Hate to replace them after every winter cause of salt. Even though if you kinda think about it there $110 for a pair. And swapping them once a year wouldn't be to bad I guess. Just feels like a waste cause you had to swap them for just corrosion purposes instead of normal wear.

    Never had any experience with uniball UCAs. How often do they need replacing under normal wear and tear? I dont abuse my truck, and I dont have to deal with salty roads.

    I've had mine for 4 years now. Still tight, still going strong. No salty roads to deal with either except for the couple of times driving through Montana.
