I'm pretty sure that kind of thing doesn't exist in Moab

Things to check out: Moab Diner for sure. Awesome food and ice cream/shakes there. Also there's a cool original Indian Ladder that you can climb up if you're brave enough down by the river near Moab Rim. There also a lot of petroglyphs that line the river on both sides down there. Potato Salad Hill is also a cool place to check out because you can also check out the creek and waterfall there.

Is anyone planning on running Crystal Geyser this year? It would need to be a smaller, fast moving group. It is hard to follow, I have got lost on it before. A Wednesday or Thursday trip for sure. I've heard it is being threatened with closure.

Looks fairly simple trial. Navigating seems to be the challenge. What made you point your scope towards that trail?

It runs in/crosses 10 mile wash. I thought Bob had posted that this area was under threat of closure. That was my only reason. I've only ever done it on 2 wheels with a paper map (shakes fist at technology).

Edit: I might just go explore 10mile also. That might have to be its own trip besides RT

Yeah my time there isn't set in stone of how long I'll be there. Last year I had a very large list of trails and didn't do half of it. I will be doing very little if no trail repeats.

So far as not trail attractions I'm fairly open. Don't generally do much exciting besides the tourist trip down main street.

Thought I should chime in with some ideas for things to do around town.

    - As for live music, I haven't heard of anything yet but I'm sure one if not more bars in town will have something that weekend. I'm don't usually hang in the bar scene but I wood recommend Woody's and the Rio second.

    - for hikes the list is endless. Obviously the national parks are great to visit. Also, left hand mill creek ( great for water hike sometimes crowed), Negro Bill ( has water and morning glory arch), Corona arch and Cable arch ( short hikes, large arch outside of parks)

    - Another option for a half day is floating the Moab daily. You can rent Duckies in town at canyon voyages. With 2 vehicles set up a shuttle and float the river. If it's hot out great place to spend the afternoon/evening.

    - There are lots of guided ropes option if anyone is interested. Couple companies even repel people near morning glory arch. Your start at sand flats and reply into negro bill then finish by hiking the canyon out to the river road.

    - For ice cream I reccomended Moab Fro Yo. Self serve with lots of topping.

    - Kens lake is also a great place to spend some time especially if you have dogs that like swimming.

Hope this helps. Let me know if anyone has any specific questions.

Thanks for the heads up man! I'll certainly check out those bars, and I'll keep my eyes open and ask around when I get there who has what bands. Would love to spend an evening doing that.

Haha forget fro yo! Got i forget the name of the place we went last year. It was like halfway through town, I think by Eddies kind of? If you go to BFE its on the left side of town. It's like a little ice cream restaurant place, we got some bomb ice cream! Oh! And moab brewery has kick ass ice cream too :D

If time permits floating the river sounds awesome too! Will all depend on how many trails we feel like fitting in

There's some REALLY good ice-cream just West of Main St. near the North side near Pasta Jay's. Same Pasta Jay's as found in Boulder.
