Is the dealership replacing anything else along with the frame that may be associated with taking the frame off? I just replaced my LCA bushings, nuts and bolts. I called Toyota and they said they usually just replace the entire LCA @ around 900 doll hairs because they are such a pain in the weiner!! Anyone that's had it done can you please confirm?

There has to be! We got clobbered with snow this year which brings with it tons of salt for our frames to absorb!... I will try to find this out...My frame is fine but I know others are hurting pretty bad and they haven't even heard of this yet.

Well, the original service campaign letter went out back in 2013 I believe. It included trucks from 2005-2009 for the "cold weather" states which included all of new england, VA, MD, PA, OH, etc. They changed frame manufacturers after 2009 so anything after that doesn't need it because they were treated correctly. You should do some research or go to your dealership because you probably qualify for at least an inspection. Better jump on it now because I think you have until March 2016. This latest service campaign includes oth r states that weren't listed on the original, because toyota is realizing it's a bigger issue than they originally thought.

You guys should take the time to read thru some of this thread....

CT. DE. IL. IN. KY. MA. MD. ME. MI. MN. NH. NJ. NY. OH. PA. RI. VA. VT. WI. WV. Letter reads Toyota has received reports that certain 2005 through 2009 model year Tacoma vehicles operated in specific cold climate areas with high road salt use may exhibit more-than-normal corrosion to the vehicles frame. Toyota investigated these reports and determined that the frames in some vehicles may not have corrosion-resistant protection sufficient for use in these areas. This combined with prolonged exposure to road salts and other environmental factors, may contribute to the development of more-than-normal rust in the frame of some vehicles. This condition is unrelated to and seperate from normal surface rust which is commonly found on metallic surfaces after some years of usage and/or exposure to the environment.

I'm pretty sure u can go to the toyota website and enter in your VIN and it'll show you anything and everything that applies to your truck.

All the states that were listed on the original are not listed on the most recent update....what's your point? Those states have already been covered, why list them again?

I love it when people on this site bite your head off for asking a damn question that was asked 15 pages ago on a 30 page thread...thank you for your patience...FYI it takes less time to just answer a simple question, or ignore the question then it is to come back with a response complaining about people not reading the entire 30 page thread...

Dropped my truck off in November of 2014. Truck is #16 in line for a frame and 6 frames were just dropped off to the dealer.

I found that under mine as well about a week ago when I checked out the 2 recalls I have, (seat belt & leaf's) both I knew about & have the letters. I already lost one Taco to frame rot, made a tidy profit on it when Toyota bought it back. Not looking forward to loosing a 2nd Taco to it. I'll be taking mine in, in the near future for inspection. :boom:

I just got my letter and when i called the dealership to schedule an appointment to have my frame looked at, I asked her if they were going to spray my frame to prevent rust and she acted like she had no idea what i was talking about.

I looked at my frame and to be honest i think it looks pretty good; so I can't imagine them replacing my frame. So, my question is; is toyota spraying all frames that pass or just certain frames?
