Hey guys, so I was out on the logging roads ripping around and on my way home I started to lose brake pressure to the point where I had no brakes at all. I parked the truck and came back a few days later with some brake fluid to get it home because my master cylinder was empty when I parked it. I got home and checked my brake lines, master cylinder and brake pedal links and they all seem to be fine, but I still had no brakes driving home. The strange thing is that when I got home my master cylinder still had brake fluid in it and there wasn't any obvious leaks? Has anyone had this problem before? Any help trouble shooting? The truck is a 1990 pickup 4x4 5speed. Thanks for any help.

Most likely, once you lost brake control, you had dumped all the brake fluid through a broken brake line. Putting fluid in the reservoir won't help since the lines are full of highly compressible air. And you won't see any leaks since first all the air has to leak out. But I'd bet if you get under the truck and follow the brake lines, you will find an issue. Then it is a matter of replacing the damaged line, then a full bleed, and you will be set again.
