    I have an 02 tacoma 4dr trd 4wd

I was reading on a lift kit that trucks that have the automatic diff locker can only be lifted 2" with out other work... what is the validity of this statement?

I am up in the air on a lift kit.... if anyone has a suggestion on a brand and how much to raise it I am all ears... the truck is stock with 265s, I am not trying to do any rock crawling just trails in the CO mountain area.

Completely false. Only lifting the front past 2.5" is typically frowned upon unless drop bracket. Get a good set of coilovers, a good set of rear springs, throw some 285s on there and call it done.

I like my full Old Man Emu suspension kit. I would recommend it.

it depends on your needs. What do you plan on using the lift suspension for? Frequent wheeling? Do you want the adjustability in the front?

Other than tire fitment, why get new UCAs? I have never switched from stock and have no problems with alignment adjustments or anything

^^ +1 same here. Just did the OME kit here also. Factory control arms. Alignment went to factory specs. Took some time on the alignment rack but they worked. 04 DC with 881's and 10mm enhancers. Save spending the $$ on control arms is what I'm doing.

It's really quite easy to do unless you don't have a jack/jackstands and some basic hand tools. If you don't have those, you could literally buy all of it and pay less than you would to have most "off-road" shops install it for you. Just my experience.

there are alot of trails in the Colorado area, the truck is still my daily driver I don't mind a stiff rough ride.
I am looking at a wench steel bumpers and the old man emu with 883s

and you say you have 285 under that with no rub?

285s rub pretty bad in the front when the wheels are turned, but you aren't wheeling unless you're scrubbing!

    Hey Twitch,

I run Alcan springs in the rear with Bilstein 7100s, with a 6" shackle and like that setup a lot. In front I run a unique combo of parts to make my own extended travel coilovers which net me almost 11" of wheel travel up front. (I run the Light Racing upper control arms to allow for that extra travel) You can see all my parts and suspension iterations in my build thread. (if you click on the picture in my signature line) If you have any questions on what I'm running, feel free to ask on my build.
