Sucks. Does the whole house need a re-pipe? If the mold issue is not unmanageable, all this can be negotiated in the closing cost for the seller to credit you for the cost to repair.

However, if evertything else about the house is not bueno, including the location (making the ROI worth it for future resale), bunt.

I find it hard to believe the seller did not know about these leaks and mold and did not disclose. Based on that deceit alone, I'd be walking out, and you might be able to avoid the $1,000 deposit cost if they mispreperesneted or failed to disclose a known condition.
Who knows what else will come up after closing, and trust me, you'll have plenty of other minor things to deal with anyway.

General rule: as a homeowner, anything you do (or pay to have done) to a house usually costs at least $1 housebuck or multiples thereof.

My HVAC is out and I'm waiting on a quote right now.....probably going to be 5-7 housebucks unfortunately but in Texas a house is pretty much not inhabitable without AC and mine is over 10 years old.
