You will get more intake noise, you may experience better acceleration. The K&N filter doesn't do good unless lubed, which may foul your MAP sensor. Seems a little pricey. The car in my signature has a similar intake with a K&N filter. I keep the filter clean and lightly lubed, check the MAP regularly.
    Great sound during hard acceleration:D:burnrubber:

Deck plate mod with an AFI filter. It's a lot cheaper and you get nearly the same results.

Buy an $80 one off ebay and make your own heat shield Or do deck plate mod. Spending that much on unoticable gains isnt worth it. I bought mine just for the sound and im very happy with it.

X2 on the AFE** filter and deck plate. (you want the pro dry drop in filter)

If you really want it to be like the k&n kit just delete the resonators.. There are a few ppl on here that have done it.

Im planning on making a custom intake tube out of pvc wrapped in heat proof tape. Will cost me maybe 45$ in materials.

Very few are actually smog legal in California.

The AEM Brute force is legal.

A deck plate with drop in AFE or AEM dry flow S is good as well.

I have a 6 inch deck plate with elbow closed off with stock paper OEM filter and its fine.

The patents they use arent C.A.R.B. legal or some shit..

Only a few that you can buy for the 3.4 are 50 state legal

S&B is C.A.R.B approved. I prefer there 8 layer filter over K&N's 5 layer filter & they also have the dryflow filters available for the people who prefer a dry filter over an oiled one.IMAG0470_zpscab75f24_531126dac8117c2c37b45d1def2e5bed2998a059.jpg

Looks solid, never heard of S&B but I would totally opt for a dry filter.

I use the 8layer oiled filter & a prefilter on mine.

S&B are solid intakes, they do more diesel intakes than anything else I used to be big in to the diesel scene & was a dealer for them. They make good stuff. The 8 layer filter was a big plus with the diesels because it filters way better than the 5 layer K&N uses & the massive volume of air diesels suck in.

Both the oiled & dryflow are available from S&B you just have to tell them witch one you want.

It says it on the front page of there site & when I called to order a replacement filter (I like to have 2 so I have one to put on and can clean the other whenever) they asked if I wanted the dry or oiled.

I like it, I just might buy one for shits and giggles.

I hate super loud intakes though.

I hear ya, I noticed my S/C whine quite a bit more after I installed it. But can't give any input with this intake on an N/A engine.
