I'm looking at some exhaust for my 05 tacoma and i'm wondering what mufflers yall would suggest looking for a loud aggressive tone but not to much.

If you want a semi loud exhaust go with the TRD. For me it was annoying so I swapped it out, but lots of folks seem to really like it. Factory and it bolts up one piece. Best prices were at TRD Parts for U in Dallas, but just google it and lots will come up.

I have a Dynomax Super Turbo on my '06. Good sound without being obnoxious.

I went with the Dynomax Ultra Flow cat back from Advance Auto. Used a coupon for $50 off and Dynomax had a $50 rebate at the time so I paid $162 with tax and shipping.

Good (to me) sound, not ricey. Only has a slight drone right at 40mph and quiet at highway speeds.

Ya, I don't like them too loud, or sounding like a fart tip system on a Honda.

I have a Gibson, nice low rumble at cruising speed but will roar when I stomp the pedal. Love the sound and fit & finish is great. However I'm experimenting with a 24" oval Magnaflow muffler. It's the closest in size to the oem muffler but better flowing and hopefully even more quieter but not too quiet :D

    TRD skid painted black,
The TRD is louder than stock of course, next step up is the Banks.
Banks is a deep ( for a 6 cyl ) and a nicely made catback slightly louder than the TRD.
I really don't think either will add real H.P. or torque in my opinion.

I got my TRD exhaust from Toyota of McDonough. The price was the same as TRD Parts 4U in Dallas, but shipping was much cheaper from just outside of Atlanta to Southwest Va.

I was impressed by their service, I got a few emails from the parts dept to tell me that they received the order, when it shipped and to let them know if there were issues or if I needed anything further.

Magnaflow. Pick a muffler and have it installed. I still have the same one I had put on 2 weeks after I bought my truck in August 2007.

That's what mine has as well, dumps out in front of the rear axle.

I might eventually route it out the side or the back.

I have a 2015 DC Prerunner 4.0 . I've been looking all over the internet and asking everyone I know about exhausts! All very confusing with very little consistent answers. Talked to the Toyota dealer and they want $499 for the TRD exhaust which from many threads, the exhaust sounds terrific. I didn't want to spend the $499 plus labor. So I decided to go the local muffler shop and ended up with a Magnaflow part #12282 for $220 out the door. They first installed a 14" muffler but it was TOTALLY too loud and the drone in the cab was unbearable. They then changed it out to the 24" and it sounded terrific. Great service at Speedway Muffler in Upland, CA. Although, down deep in my heart, I wonder what the TRD exhaust would have sounded?

That's what I have, not too loud or too quiet like oem.

I broke down! Couldn't help it- -ordered a TRD supercharger AND the TRD exhaust. I'm not satisfied with the Magnaflows. Rig should be complete next week!

I just put a Dynomax Ultra Flo Welded on my 2012 Tacoma. I like the sound. Not too loud but certainly more aggressive than stock.
