It's all relative about gas prices. You gotta pay up North, funny due to the oil sands, but never trickles down to the normal folks eh? But your health care is free, relative again to your tax rate etc and how good it is. You live where you are. It's part of life. Retire in Thailand. All you need is $2k a month proven retirement, forever visa, and very good healthcare and cheap living. Get 2 house maids, one old one young.

Yea, it's all noise now, who cares, I hope the forum part of the guy pounds sand for the rest of his life, but I hope for the human being part of the fool behind the stupidity of his first and later posts getting it fixed for free.

Forums, what a silly thing, and what folks post is better than cat videos.:p I have done it too.

Nope, in fact, it just made you a perfect fit for the forum.
As I mentioned earlier, I am rooting for the dealership to make the right decision for the Toyota owner.
Good dealership posts are far and few between and largely a reason I can not move to another State. Mine kicks ass as well.
    Best of luck.

Well you know I guess I have to apologize got not taking care of the rock chips? Probably got them this winter but you know everyone looks their truck over when they are busy moving snow just about every night when it's less than 10* out. My bad. The chips I just found when I washed it for the first time for the spring and found my self clearing paint. The one that is on my paint stripping plan seemed to work out for the best since it exposed a bigger problem. Dummies are focused on the paint chip and rust spot, not the fact the paint didn't bond to the metal. Hopefully nobody here has the same problem and isn't out of the warranty period.

Unfortunately it isn't done and all approved yet at all that good stuff. It's in Toyotas hands now. I do not have much faith in bigger corporations so we will see, hopefully since both managers say it will be covered by warranty I hope that matters but it's not like they have final say.

One thing I nicely learned is some people are supportive and offer an actual opinion that is thoughtful, other people are eager to start talking shit, I told you so you moron and all that was really highlighted is that they are a dime a dozen.

Brother i've read this whole thread front to back. Honestly there are some grade A slapnuts on here jumping to some BS conclusions about your first post, you know who you are. And really, a couple of them should take some reflection time with the ole' mommas saying "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!"

For what its worth, I see a rust spot caused by something. What I don't see is that rust spot oxidizing the rest of the pillar higher where the large chip of paint has flaked off, and not going lower than the initial rust spot. Which leads me to believe the initial paint job, on that particular spot, never cured properly to the pillar. This wouldn't be an uncommon manufactures defect for ANY company and should be covered under warranty, granted the warranty is still good.

You get my point behind it though right? I've seen comments on other threads that it's dead around here. Maybe it's time to reflect why?

You need to realize that when you post on TW, you'll get all kinds of responses, when you get pissed off and post about it, you're gonna get responses based on that.
I posted that the pressure washer could have caused the paint removal, and you came back with this comment:

Not sure I would go so far as to call anyone dummies for any reason - this isnt the first TW paint thread. Not being up close and personal and unable to personally inspect the infected area is a clear disadvantage.
You have had time to inspect, consider and form your own potentially bias opinion.
I am sure you will agree that damage to automotive paint whether impact from an airborne rock or hooker crossing the street has the potential of unknowingly raising the paint close to and surrounding the area, effectively causing rust.
We all assume and make judgments based on evidence provided largely based on our experience, even you.
So, not having the vehicle repaired cost free under warranty back in your possession at this point, let's not jump to conclusion even knowing the planets, so far seem to be aligning.
    Good Luck.

Hehe. I like the impact analogy. I think this is the first paint thread like this though

    You've gone soft on us.

Me and OP exchanged PMs before and after the dummies post, so if he wants to call me a dummy that's fine, he's an okay dude.

    Now GTFO.

    Good For You.
I could care less about the developing spiritual relationship you have with Rock Chip. Personally, I feel both of you are DB's and will have a neat time Skyping naked and lovingly gazing into the others eyes while justifying your awkward feelings through some pathetic primal reasoning while chanting, it is just a piece of skin, it is just a piece of skin, over and over.

    Final Verdict:
    Toyota: environmental damage
Extra warranty: environmental paint protection doesn't cover environmental damage...

time to go get some estimates

I'm not even surprised. Unhappy yes but... That's pretty irrelevant. Needs to get fixed regardless

I wouldn't expect them to fix the rust spot. But you are right that with a properly substrate the paint around it should have remained adhered. I would be suspicious of the entire paint job. The paints they are using are too soft. I expect them to scratch easily but they should stick. Fix it, sell it, and buy another Taco.
