Hello everyone. I have been looking to buy a 2015 Tacoma for a few months now but cant find what I want. My local dealer has submitted an order for it but Gulf States Toyota wont run the order thru. All I want is a DCLB 6cly with Convenience package. Prefer magnetic gray.
Gulf States will only make the 7190 long bed dual cab with the SR5 package but I dont need the radio and dont like the painted fenders and bumper.
Anyone know if a dealer outside of Gulf States will order me one?
    Thanks
    Roy

If you do not want the painted stuff then you will have to just take it as is fromt he dealership and and the paint off. or you can buy the bumpers and fenders unpainted.

You could order it in Canada , they're everywhere

You might pay a little bit more though

Canada is everywhere? [IMG] If I buy one from Canada, will the whole top of the cab move whenever I honk the horn?
I forgot to mention i only want 2wd. the 7190. Every one I could find anywhere north of Texas was 4wd.

I think you mean SR it comes with body color bumpers and fenders. SR5 Comes with body color fenders and chrome grill and bumpers.

What you want is a base model with convince package. That would have the black fenders and front bumper.

So are you wanting a plain Jane 2wd or a Prerunner? Anyway I bet you'll have a hard time getting what you want most likely too late to order from the factory. I guess you'll just have to try several dealers or possibly go to a dealer outside the Gulf States region.

The local dealer here has two base model Tacomas on the lot but no base model Prerunners.

I believe 7190 is the pre runner. Yes i want a base DCLB 6cyl 2 WD with convenience only. Dont care for entune or chrome or even the towing. Only thing worth anything to me on the SR is intermittent wipers. And I cant believe they are not included on the base package. What vehicle made in the last decade or two does not have intermittent wipers??!!
I am hoping someone from outside the GS region can tell me if it can be ordered from their area. Gulf States is our middleman and all dealers here have to use them.

Stay away from Texas, Louisiana, & Oklahoma dealers. GST is kinda pointless, and a waste of money if you're looking for a Tacoma. I saved about $4k on my truck by going to Colorado

I used car broker Automotive search in Denver to order mine. You could try that, its a few hundred dollars all together if I remember right, but you could possibly be able to order that way.

Go ahead and buy the base Prerunner. Adding things like cruise and intermittent wipers is pretty easy. It costs about a hundred bucks and there are a dozen threads on TW about how to install it.

Toyota does not build a DCLB, 2 wheel drive, with only a convenience package.

If you try to 'Build and Price' on toyota.com, it will show that you in order to get a 2015 Tacoma, with your requirements of V6, Double Cab, in 2 Wheel drive model, and only a convience option that would be a PreRunner in a DCSB configuration. For a long box configration, the PreRunner comes in either SR5 or TRD Sport configurations.

Once you select the options you want, they do have a "Check Inventory" button, and it does show models available.

ps the dealer should have known that, and be able to check inventory. Time to find a different dealer.

In the US the "Build and Price" function on the website does not in fact at all correspond to what can actually be built or not. It just shows what is in stock or on allocation within the geographic region for the zip code you enter. What is "possible" changes day to day and based on the zip code you enter as the stock and allocations change.

That said, there definitely are configurations that are "impossible" to build. You can't just custom order anything. But don't let US site fool you into thinking there are fewer choices than there really are.

Your best bet is to talk to the internet or fleet sales department at a larger dealer to find out what is actually possible or not.

Very true what you have to do is go to a good dealer tell them what you want. You can build a Tacoma on the Toyota site that in fact can't be made.

Better hurry though as soon they switch to the 2016 and you won't be able to order a 2015 from the factory you'll have to find one in inventory which a good dealer should have no problem doing.

In fact if you ask me having a dealer find you one in inventory is the better option as you'll only have to wait a few days to get your truck. They'll drive it from one dealer to another. A sure sign of a bad dealer is if you I want x which is not on the lot and they don't say "we will get it from inventory for you sir".... walk out.

Actually its fun because you get to list your preferred colors and its a surprise when get it. Kinda like having babies before ultrasound. Or old school military when I enlisted they said what job do you want I said surprise me and the guy said ok then open mechanical (meaning any job in that field of expertise).

Thanks for all the replies. My local dealer did say that it was not available in that configuration but said he would submit it anyway to see if GST would pick it up. They have not yet.
It may not be possible to get it. That is why I asked the question here. Perhaps a different region would/could order it.
I am sure I could add the wipers if I wanted them but I cant get the base vehicle I want.
I will look for car broker Automotive search in Denver. thanks

:):)And I'm glad some got my Terrence and Philip reference:):)
