I just installed my Pioneer 8100NEX using the Crux SWRTY. After everything was installed, I have no audio...

Got the 3rd brake light wired up for my new Bestop Supertop. Wiring is definitely not my cup of tea, but I got it done after a little troubleshooting.

 

Looking into buying one of those. Did the 3rd brake light come with the top?

 

Yup. It comes with it.. it's a little weird to put on though. It's a third party chinese knock off LED brake light. The instructions don't say a whole lot about it, but say to drill and screw it to the top along with the self-adhesive strip (but it doesn't come with the drill bit or the screws).

I ended up just zip tying it to the cross bar, extended the wires, bought some wire loom, and ran it down along the bar and then along the side rail to tap into the tail light. Overall not hard, but wiring isn't my thing lol

Crux SWRTY 61J? This is compatible for JBL. The 61S is not.

Crux SWRTY 61J, but the wiring is slightly different and I aparently messed up somewhere. the 61J has a "amp power" wire, and the 61J instructions didn't specify where to wire it into

 

I think technically, but I know a bunch of people who have camper shells and don't hook it up. I don't think the Softopper brand comes with them either. I thought about just skipping it, but knowing how people drive around here I figured it couldn't hurt to have. lol

I should probably remove my vinyl cover on it...I have been wanting to for a while now anyway. I need to buy a clear lens for it and new LEDs

 

Did you see the note under "JBL AMP MUTE OPTION" ?

 

I did, but I have a 2009, so I didn't think that applied to me. There is no where on the stock radio to wire in the "amp turn on" cable from the 61J. I bet I read something wrong and connected the "amp turn on" into the new head unit mute wire....

But there is still Nowhere to run the 61J "amp turn on"

Also, just realized that my steering wheel controls (volume, mode, etc,) aren't doing anything either, so I don't know what the hell I did

 

It looks like "Amp Turn On" from SWRTY is supposed to connect to the blue/white on the stereo (color for color). It's shown as an amp output from the stereo in the Pioneer instructions.

Disclaimer: Not having done this same setup, I'm not 100%, but that's what it looks like.

 

As promised... Picture of my DIY Raptor LED lights mod... Took a whole 30-45 minutes and a NewCastle ;-)

 

The only wire I can remember being that color is the "system remote" wire, that is supposed to wire to a window antenna booster if you have one, according to the instructions

 

Good ole rustoleum hammered black, it's more of a very dark grey. I really liked the look of it on my sliders so I painted the wheels to match. I'm planning to weld up a DIY relentless bumper this summer and will paint it to match as well. It hides imperfections really well and with the slight texture it is easy to to spot touch ups when needed.

I finished painting the other two wheels and center caps this afternoon. I'll put up some better pics after I get them back on tomorrow.
