What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I'm getting the 7100 next week... Hope I like it. Freebie ;-)

 

Just find all the small tips and work around you can do with it. For example the stock XM radio will Not carry over, so you have to get a new one, but there is an additional cable you can buy that will allow you to utilize the stock pre wired shark fin antenna if you have it.

Unfortunately there are not really any wiring diagrams or walkthroughs for the new NEX systems, so take it slow
It is relatively straight forward, just don't make a mistake like I did haha

 

While I'd love to do it myself... Pioneer is scheduling a "professional dealer install" and they're doing it. I have a 2011. Don't use XM. Just want my steering wheel controls and I'll be happy.

I'm praying a dealer install doesn't mean BB... Cuz I'll cry and do it myself. But they're setting it all up so I'm at the mercy of Pioneer. We'll see how it goes.

 

Well good luck! After I get my audio issue fixed, I an going to try to get my stock back up camera to feed into my 8100. There are some walkthroughs for it, but they didn't work for me so back to the drawing board.

 

You need a power inverter. I think one is 12v and the other is something else. Needs some weird adapter. I like it being in the rear view. I'll update once pioneer emails me with the logistics and gets the install set up.

 

Awesome! Let me know what pioneer tells you and how they do the install so I can try and fix mine, if I haven't foxed it already

 

How did you get this anyway? Pioneer turn you into a ginnypig?

 

Drove it home from work! Just bought a 2015 and i love it.

 

Got rid of the chrome bumper with a couple cans of plastidip.

 

Check the installation manual, it says that on page 9, but on page 14, it shows a blue/white wire as an output to the amps. There is a note on page 14's wiring riser that says "System Remote Control" It looks like the same wire is used for both applications.

 

Dropped mine off at the body shop to fix the accident damage.

Finally got the correct license plates on my Tacoma.

back story, dealer called a month and a half after my purchase to tell me I have the wrong plates on my truck. Go to dealer 2 saturdays ago and the finance guy was not in. I asked his manager about the situation and he had no idea what I was talking about. Two guys searched through 2 desks looking for my plate. Nothing.

Called finance guy that Monday. He said "wish you or one of them would have called me" "we keep registered plates locked upstairs""thats the protocol".

Went back to dealer this past Saturday. Asked another guy about my situation and suggested he call the finance guys cell phone because the plate might be locked upstairs...........this guys says "thats not our protocol". ha-ha.

Anyway, the new plate was in the finance guys desk.

Was going over the truck to make sure everything was ready for next weeks trip from Calgary to Victoria BC and also was checking the CRC applied to my frame for the rust when I noticed a snapped rear leaf spring...

Got the old set out yesterday, and purchased a set off a 2013 with about 10,000km but now I need a new "centerpin" so I can add my AAL and also new U-bolts and hardware...

 

Depends on state, in Washington its not illegal

Most states, if the truck came with a 3rd brakelight, must be functional, if a camper top was added, it should have a functional 3rd brakelight as well!
