I noticed this on my trip home yesterday. My 02 hood on the drive side flutters a little bit but the passenger side does not. When parked I can lift the driver side up a little bit but not the passenger side. Did I do something wrong with my conversion?

After your conversion you will probably have to adjust the hood bump stops.

    That's my guess.

Edit: I should ask. Fluttering on the edge closest to the windshield or grille? And where can you lift it up? My hood has always fluttered on the edge closest to the windshield since the day I picked it up with 29,000 miles.

So I went to my local auto store and got an axle. my buddy works their. I was telling him that I should probably just re-boot and grease the OEM ones instead of running an aftermarket axle. He said damage has already been done and I should use new axles. my buddy is full of shit right? lol

x2, that would be my guess as well.

IIRC, you can adjust the hood latch assembly as well? I'd go look but mine is missing. :anonymous:

Depends how long your boots have been torn. If you open them up and they are full of water and dirt with very little grease the axles are probably done. If you caught the tears early and they aren't full of crap with and still lots of grease they are fine to reboot.

I think it is that too. the PO got hit on the drive side so that may also make the bump stop a little higher on that side. It's fluttering on the edge closest to the grill. I can lift it up between the grill and hood.

    Haha  exactly, hopefully not!

Haha I wouldn't doubt that it is missing. I can check to see! I know it is currently fully secured just the wind gets under it right there

Done my valve cover gaskets half moons and tube seals today after work wasn't too bad also changed the plugs and wires and found that it still has the original ngk's in the passenger side and denso in the driver lol with 150k miles they had enough also cleaned the intake and all that while it was apart. Seems to run a lot better
