The alternator situation was a bitch, but I couldn't just leave you or anyone else stranded somewhere. Good times fo sho. If you do make it down to the Texas Hill Country, I'll show ya what Texas hospitality is all about. Like the song goes, "Kick off your shoes and come on in".

I am back for 3 weeks, can attend a meet around the philly area, let me know if you have anything planned. Note I have bike races every sunday this month. SO saturdays or friday evenings would be better.

 

any of you guys try this? I have a spare alternator right now, but wondering if this could be an option if it goes up again. I have been unable to locate a 4cly alternator from any of the local autochains that work on mine, for some reason my 2012 has a V6 Plug but a 4 Cly Bracket. Texoma helped me a while back when my decided to quit for good. We couldn't find one and ended up going to the dealership. The local one (here in MD) wanted $750+ just for the part.

Also if any of you guys are running an 09 4 cly SR5 my buddy has one and we verified he has the same Alt as the 2012.

Anyone know where to find old large (cheap /junk) industrial equipment?
Say for instance... a large gear you'd find in mining equipment or something similar? Large - like 48" for example

I'm looking for something to stick in my landscaping as yard art.

There are lots of antique places & auctions around here but I don't think there would be much (or any) large equipment.

I thought I'd ask and see if I get any info. Or if anyone has any ideas?

Your best bet would be to visit a coal mine or stripping pit I would think. That stuff is laying all over the place in Schuylkill County in the abandoned mines and stripping pits.

 

Better bet would be to call Achey's or Weiner scrap metal and ask.

 

Most large industrial scrapyards have stuff about.

I did some art work too years ago ,the hard part of art is getting the proper proportions ... IE : Your time , your investment , cash paid for it !! Lol !!

My buddy bought a 4th gen 4Runner this winter and he finally got the chance to take it off road this weekend when we went on a fishing trip. Im pretty sure he's hooked on bombin around on gamelands and national forest roads.

Any suggestion on places to check out?

Those guys are in Windber pa. Closest place I know of to Pittsburgh. It's has a good variety of trails but is a good bit smaller than Rausch.

 

Theres a place in Kittanning called Scrubgrass and a place in Eau Claire called Outback Offroad (owned by Meridian off road shop in Butler)

 

Got some floor mats for sale. Set of factory carpet mats from a 14 DC and a set of factory rubber ones from my 15 DC. I don't know how much to ask so I'll say $60 + shipping per set OBO. Will clean them before shipping them or if I can meet you somewhere along my travels or yours you can save on shipping.
